The Maldon Football Netball Club is the biggest sporting service provider in the town and provides the opportunity to play competitive sport to 65 plus senior footballers, 30 senior netballers and 80 plus junior footballers/netballers.
Maldon is steeped in history and part of that history is the Maldon Football Club which can trace its beginnings back to 1873 when the Maldon Shire Cricket Club formed a football club to provide exercise for its members during the winter months. The newly formed club was known as “The Maldon Football Club”.
In 1886 the Maldon Football Club was officially named and in 1894 played its first match in the Castlemaine District Football League. The club won its first premiership in 1894 and since that time has won 29 First 18 premiership games as well as numerous second 18 and under age premierships.
In recent history we have installed new training lights, which have led us to run junior night games, with the view to further improve these lights to enable night games for all grades.
The club fields under 10.5's, 13’s, 15’s, 17’, Reserve and Firsts football teams and under 15’s, 17’s, C, B and A Grade Netball in the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League.
The committee and members are endeavouring to make Maldon Football Netball Club an enjoyable place for spectators and players, with the best possible facilities.
