Dunolly Proud
The football and netball club commenced in 1873 and has a proud history. The first game was a scratch match played on the Market Square on the afternoon of Saturday 30 August. Play commenced at 4.30pm and as reported by the Express, “An exciting and well contested game was played until six o’clock, when neither side being successful in obtaining a goal, the match was declared drawn.”
The Club is proud to have eight past players who went on to play in the VFL; M Beasy (Carlton), J Gloury (NSW Interstate), L Polinelli (St Kilda), A Rayson (Geelong), J Morrisey (Carlton & North Melbourne), S Murley (Carlton), N Kick (Carlton), J Stephenson (Carlton).
The Dunolly Football & Netball Club has played within the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League since 2004.
The Club operates from the Dunolly Recreation Reserve, located at Elgin Street, Dunolly. Facilities at the Reserve available for members and players use include one full size football oval, one netball court, change rooms and social room facilities.
The Club Committee welcomes and encourages feedback from members, players and the community on any issue relating to Club activities. Input is possible by contacting any Committee member, or by attending Committee meetings upon invitation.
It is hoped that all participating in the Club in any way will enjoy the experience and look forward to future involvement.
Dunolly Football Netball Club Mission
The mission of the Dunolly FNC is to earn the respoct of the community and fellow clubs by creating a positive environment for all football and netball players from the juniors through to seniors as well as for the members and supporters of the Club.
The Club aims to be a successful familt club both on and off the field by providing efficient gpovernance through a proficient and dedicated committee, quality coaching panels, developmentof a stable player base and committeed off field support all working together to promote a strong community involvement with a safe and supportive environment for all.
The Club strives to enter all senior and junior football and netball teams into the Maryborough Castlemaine Football Netball League.
