The Avoca Football Netball Club has been busy recruiting over the off season and is very happy to announce the appointment of the high flying Brendon Hedger as an assistant coach for the 2010 season.
Hedger joins Avoca from Maryborough Rovers where he has figured strongly in their Best & Fairest in recent seasons and he is sure to bolster the forward and ruck division of the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs will once again be coached by Tony Bellenger, while Julian Field will also be returning as an assistant coach. The coaching staff is eager to improve on the 2009 season in which they were defeated in the preliminary final by 1 point, and the signing of a number of new recruits has created a confident feeling around the Bulldogs kennel.
Clubroom extensions are currently being completed and the football & netball players are particularly looking forward to utilising their new gymnasium facilities which are an extension of the new change rooms.
Dale Harrison has been appointed to the position of Under 17 football coach with the Reserves position still to be announced.
The netball girls are looking forward to the 2010 season under the coaching of Nicole Wardlaw & Kath Parmenter who will be in charge of the A, B & C grades, with Jo Beavis at the helm of the 17 & under girls and Tara Veitch and Tracey Harrison again in charge of the 15 & under girls.
The first football & netball training run for the 2010 season will be on Wednesday January 20th.
Any players in all grades of football & netball interested in playing for the Bulldogs will be made most welcome in season 2010.
