Leah Harris is considered to be one of the greatest ever players for the Avoca Netball Club.
Leah has contributed at administration and playing level during her time with the club from 1980 to 1993.
She was President of the club in 1986 after being in the role of Vice-President in 1985.
Her playing days commenced at junior level in 1980 and she showed straight away that she was a stand out player winning the club Under 14 Best & Fairest.
This was the first of eight club Best & Fairest awards.
Twice in the Under 14’s, Once in the Under 16’s and five times in the A Grade.
She was also Runner Up three times in A Grade.
Leah also won three League Best & Fairest awards, once in the Under 16 grade and twice at A Grade level. And was Runner Up three times at A Grade level.
Leah played in seven Premierships with Avoca. Once in the Under 14’s and six times at A Grade level.
Her last game for Avoca was in the 1993 A Grade premiership team.
Leah shot over 2600 goals in eight years as a senior player, for an average of 325 goals per season
Her contribution has been significant and she played a key role in our premiership era of the late 80’s and early 90’s.
