Season 2016
The senior team could only win three games in a very disappointing and controversial season which saw coach Jamie Briody resign mid season after he found that he did not have the support of the playing group.
The Reserves team made some improvement from the previous season to win six games and finish in 9th position.
The Under 17 and Under 14 teams both finished mid ladder, while the Under 11.5 boys played in the Grand Final and were leading with ten seconds to go only to have premiership glory cruelly ripped out of their hands with the last kick of the day by a Carisbrook opponent.
Under 11.5 player Jai Howell also suffered a similar defeat when losing the MCDFNL Best & Fairest on the last vote card of the evening.
The following players played their 150th club games in 2016: Darcy Carey, Nathan Field, Joel Howell, Rhys Walkley.
The following players played their 100th club game in 2016: Jamie Beavis, Nick Drury, Sam Gleisner, Kai Murdoch, Chris Redpath.
Senior Football Best & Fairest was Harley Hunter.
Season 2016 was a season from hell as far as controversy both on and off the field and court, with a number of unsavoury incidents occurring which created stress on many of our committee, supporters and players.
It is a season that can only be better left behind and hopefully the club will springboard back up the ladder after hitting rock bottom.
