Doreen Hunter, or Dorrie as she is more affectionately known as is another who has been a great contributor to our netball club.
Dorrie has served the club for over 30 years in the roles of Coach, Umpire, and Office Bearer.
In 1990, Dorrie was rewarded for the years of devotion to the club with Life membership.
Dorrie was president of the Netball Club in 1975 and again in 1980.
She umpired for many years, but was probably best known as our very successful junior coach. 18 Grand Final Teams.
She coached our 3rds and 4th’s teams for 14 years straight from 1968 to 1981 and again coached the 3rds and 4th’s in 1990 with her daughter Christine resulting in the thirds being Runners Up and the 4ths winning the premiership. She coached the 4ths on her own in 1991 to an undefeated Premiers and Champions season.
She coached 14 premierships for our club with two premiers and champions. And she also coached four Runner Up teams.
