Season 2018
The club had a stable season in 2018; however our injury toll continued which had an effect on our senior football team missing the finals. A one point loss to Trentham in the final game of the home and away season cost us a spot in the finals. A draw would have put us into the finals.
Our Reserves football team made the finals for the second year in succession and made the preliminary final, which augers well for the future.
The club is happy with the path we are on as the atmosphere around the place is very positive that we are on the right track to being a successful club in all areas.
There was once again a very large number of milestone games played in 2018, with the highlight being 600 games to Trevor Field, which is a significant milestone.
Jaye Farnsworth achieved Life membership when he played his 300th game for the Bulldogs. 200 game milestones were achieved by Darcy Carey, Nathan Coghlan and Matt Veitch, while Jamie Beavis and Cameron Holland played there 150th games for the club.
Jason Hunt was Runner Up in the League Best & Fairest losing by two votes on the last card of the count.
Our netball girls had a mediocre season on the courts with only three grades playing finals, but they believe they are heading in the right direction for success in the future.
Maddy Egan was Runner up In the MCDFNL A Grade Best & Fairest for the second season in succession
Netball Milestones were achieved by Alana Burge playing her 350th game, Sarah Neil played her 250th game, while Claire Hamer played her 150th game.
100 game players were Ellen Barber, Bianca Powell, Maddy Redpath and Samantha Wardlaw.
Rowan Andrews was the Senior Football Best & Fairest and Caitlin Drummond was the A Grade Netball Best & Fairest.
Season 2018 was definitely a big improvement on the previous season and it is felt that the club is on the right path to success.
