In 2011 the MCDFNL will be hosting an Under Junior Football and Netball Carnival. Over the past 3 years the former Lexton Plains FLNA had hosted an Under 12 Carnival with great success. The carnival allowed children 12 years and under to compete and most importantly have fun.
The carnival will be open to all MCDFNL and Castlemaine District Junior Football clubs to enter teams in both football and netball. Entries are not limited and all clubs are encouraged to enter one or more teams. The emphasis of the carnival is to ensure all aspiring footballers and netballers can participate. The carnival details are outlined below:

Event and Match guidelines are as follows:
MCDFNL U/12 Junior Football Round Robin Carnival
- Clubs are to provide own jumpers
- Games will consist of 2 X 12min halves, with No time on and a 3 minute half time break. Games commencing late will have their playing time shortened.
- Each team will consist of 15 players on the ground at the same time, unless both sides can field more players.
- Games must be played with an equal number of players on the ground in each team. Girls are permitted to play.
- Age eligibility - Under 12 years on 31st December 2010.
- Teams may have an unlimited numbers of players on the Interchange bench
- Each Club to provide their own Coach, Runner, Water Boys & water, Trainer/s, & Goal Umpire with flags who must be correctly attired.
- All competing clubs must provide your OWN FIELD UMPIRE
- NO scoreboard will be used, with Goal Umpires keeping score for purpose of awarding winners
- A points system will apply for Win, Draw and Loss.
- No boundary umpires will be required - field umpires to "throw the ball up" when it goes OOB.
All Clubs to approach event with a view to "having fun", and to promote MCDFNL Junior Football & Coach's Code of Conduct. The Football Fixture will be similar to the below example.

- Games will consist of 2 X 10min halves with a 3 minute half time break. Games commencing late will have their playing time shortened.
- Games must be played with an equal number of players on the court in each team.
- Age eligibility – Must not turn 14 years of age in 2011.
- Teams may have an unlimited numbers of players as subs. Each club is to provide their own Scorer – Timekeeper and Umpire.
- No scoreboard will be used, with scorers keeping score for purpose of awarding winners.
- A points system will apply for Win, Draw and Loss.
All Clubs to approach event with a view to "having fun". The Netball Fixture will be similar to the below example.
