This week will see Ben Howell play his 300th Club game for the Avoca Bulldogs when he leads the Senior team onto the ground against Natte Bealiba.
Ben is a dual premiership player, and has been a fine contributor to the club since he first donned the boots back in 1991 in the Under 16’s, and continues to be a most important part of the senior team. His long kicking from Full back is a key component of his game and his experience is very important for the Bulldogs at the moment as they are currently in a rebuilding mode.
Ben was to be joined in this game by Brad Wardlaw but due to an unexpected bout of gastro that kept him out of last week’s game he will now play his 300th game next week against Navarre.
Brad Wardlaw has enjoyed a long career with Avoca and first played in the Under 16’s in 1986 and won the Best 1st year player award. He has played in five premierships and has been the recipient of a number of individual awards along the way. Brad is a tough nut who plays the game hard and fair and with eyes only for the ball, and is a player that our younger players look to for guidance.
Both Ben and Brad have been outstanding contributors to the Avoca Football Netball Club and will be honoured with Life membership for playing their 300th games.
The Avoca FNC would like to congratulate both Ben & Brad and thank them for their contributions to our club.
