On Saturday 6th March at Eureka Stadium (Northern Oval), there will be an Under 17 Representative Football Team made up of 11 Lexton Plains FL players and 11 Bendigo Bank Maryborough Castlemaine District FL players that will play against an Under 17 Central Highlands Football League Team, in a curtain raiser game to the AFL NAB Challenge Match.
The game will commence at 10am where the boys will play 4 x 20 minute quarters. The game will be due to finish at 11:35am.
The Bendigo Bank Maryborough & Castlemaine District Football League is excited that 11 boys can represent our League on such a big occasion. For many of the boys, it will be the first time that they have played on a venue as good as Eureka Stadium, and I’m sure the boys will represent the league with great distinction.
Brian Kelly and Andrew Neale have been appointed joint coaches of the team. Both these men have had experience in coaching junior players in their respective leagues in the past and I’m sure they will do a fantastic job.
A training session for the team will be held this Sunday (28th February) at the Lexton Football Ground commencing at 11am. All players either have already or will be notified by a club representative over the next 24 hours of their selection.
