The Club reappointed Tony Bellenger for a 4th year as Senior Coach and Tony coached the team to the Grand Final, but could not take his place in the team after he broke his leg in the 2nd semi final against Maldon at Dunolly.
The team also suffered a significant loss during the season when Assistant Coach Brendon Hedger suffered a serious knee injury while training for the VCFL squad for the Country Football Championships. This dealt the club a major blow as Brendon was the dominant ruckman of the competition and unfortunately with the injury happening just on the clearances deadline; he could not be replaced. The loss of Tony and Brendon played a key role in the clubs downfall in the Grand Final and had both players been fit enough to take the field then the club could quite easily have been celebrating a premiership.
It was a disappointing finish to a season that promised more!
With the input of former senior premiership players to the Reserves team such as Trevor Field and Gary & Brad Wardlaw, Our Reserves football team enjoyed a rise up the ladder and only for a disappointing three point loss in the 1st semi final they could possibly have played off in the Grand final.
Trevor Field won the MCDFNL Reserves Best & Fairest.
The Under 17 football team had a reasonable season but could not quite make the finals after missing by percentage. But a number of juniors showed promise of big things to come and Bryce Howell, Nathan Field, Matthew Jukes and Taylor Hall all establishing themselves as promising senior footballers in the future.
Andrew Wardlaw played his 250th game.
Paul Wardlaw played 200th game.
Carl Moser played his 150th game.
Club Best & Fairest was Lachlan Edwards who is the son of seven time B & F David Edwards.
Life Memberships were ratified at the AGM and to be presented in 2011 to Ron Beavis, Gary Wardlaw, Michael Wardlaw, Russell Neil and Stacey Blair.
