CLUB HISTORY:
Jeparit Rainbow Football club was formed in November 1995 when the Jeparit and Rainbow clubs then in 1997 the Mallee League was formed and our club had the honour of winning the first senior football premiership. Since then we have not reached a senior grand final but have won a reserves premiership in 2009 and a U16’s premiership in 1996 and 2002.
The club has produced one AFL player in Mark Austin who played in the U16’s 2002 premiership team. Mark is currently at the Western Bulldogs after spending some time at Carlton.
On the netball front the club has won A grade premierships in 2010 and 2011. In 2011 our B grade team were also premiers. The club has also had premiership success in C grade, Junior A and Junior B.
In November 2012 the football and netball clubs voted to amalgamate to form the current football netball club. Despite the declining population of our area the club is still able to field four football teams and six netball teams each Saturday.
Our club sees itself as an important role in Jeparit, Rainbow and the surrounding areas by providing a sporting and social outlet for members of these communities.
Following the 2014 season Jeparit Rainbow was granted permission to leave Mallee Football League to pursue a future with the Horsham & District Football League, where the club has undergone a change in identity. The clubs existing jumper of Blue, Red & White along with the nickname 'Lakers' has been changed to Lime Green, Black and White and will be now know as ‘JR Storm’.
