MOUNT Pleasant coach Derrick Filo has added another quality player to his off-season recruiting blitz, with Adam Baird signing with the Blues.
BIG GAME PLAYER: Adam Baird in action for Golden Square in the 2012 BFNL grand final.
The four-time Golden Square premiership wingman joins Eaglehawk trio Kain Robins, Matt Gretgrix and Tim Hill as new arrivals at the HDFL club.
"We needed to add a quality midfielder to our group, so we're very happy to get Adam on board,'' Filo said.
"The thing I like best about his is he's a proven big game player.
"He's played well in grand finals and he was one of the first picked for inter-league footy."
Baird joins Mounts after one year with Donald in the North Central Football League.
"Adam is related to Matt Gretgrix's wife and he's good mates with Kain Robins and Jarrod Findlay, so he was keen to come out and play with us,'' Filo said.
Filo said the Blues' recruiting campaign was near completion.
"We were never going to go out and sign 10 players,'' he said.
"We have some good kids out there... we just needed some quality players to come in. We've picked up four really good players and we might have one more to go yet.
"Overall, we're very happy with where we're at."
Meanwhile, Baird's older brother, Travis, looks set to remain with Golden Square.
The former Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions key position player had been linked with Rochester in the GVFL and Wedderburn in the NCFL in recent weeks.
However, he is now set to stay with Golden Square as the club chases a sixth-straight BFNL premiership.
