SINCE joining Mount Pleasant mid-season,
Adam Dalton has been a major talking point around the Heathcote District Football-Netball League.
A Blues attack boasting Dalton's big frame,
intimidating looks and goalkicking power is a formidale one and will be kicking for a grand final victory this Saturday on
Colbinabbin's turf against Elmore.
Dalton landed at Mounts through a mutual friend and is enjoying his time with the country club.
"I have played most of my footy with West
meadows and Glenroy in the Essendon District Football League then I went overseas and then back to Glenroy
"I wasn't happy there at all.
"I was vice-captain of the team, but I decided I needed a change, so I've moved
to Mounts and it's the best thing I've ever done".
The 26-year-old carpenter has kicked 25 goals in eight matches for Mounts.
"I think it's a good standard. It's a lot more free running than metro footy where it is more congested," Dalton said of the
HDFL games.
"Out here there is a lot more room to move and I really rate the footy".
The centre half-forward was hampered by a knee strain in the preliminary final win over Lockington Bawawn United, but fought on to kick four second-half goals in the
14-point victory.
"A couple of weeks ago against LBU, I twisted my knee and it hasn't been
right.
"I had couple of Nurofen at half-time and it was good to get out there and
knuckle down."
Playing in his first finals series, Dalton believes Mounts has a great chance of winning the premiership.
"I think it will be a big challenge. Elmore is a good side, but I don't think they can play any better than they played last time against us and it was our worst game since I've been at the club, so that's a postive for us."
Dalton is one of many drawcards to Saturday's clash between the Blues and Bloods at Colbinabbin.
