Kyneton star Ben Weightman has signed with HDFNL club Mt Pleasant.
The classy forward/midfielder joins the Blues after kicking 278 goals in 70 games for the Tigers, including 96 majors this season.
A best and fairest winner with Kyneton, Weightman will be a match-up nightmare for HDFNL defenders because of his ability to read the play combined with his quick leads, strong hands and deadly kicking for goal.

Weightman’s signing is the first of a number of key recruits new Mounts coach Darren Walsh has attracted to the club.
“I have known Ben and his family for a long time and I am excited to be able to work with him to continue to improve his footy,’’ Walsh said.
“Ben is a quality player and has a well-rounded game that is sure to test Heathcote league defenders.”
Weightman, who finished in the top 10 of the Michelsen Medal in 2017 and was named in the BFNL Team of the Year, will give the Blues some much-needed firepower inside forward 50.

At the other end of the ground, Walsh has added former Golden Square key defender Dale Young to the Blues’ playing stocks.
The five-time BFNL premiership player previously played under Walsh at the Bulldogs and spent 2017 with VAFA club University Blues.
“I am really excited to play under Darren again. He is a quality bloke and a great coach, I learnt a lot from him when I was starting out at Square,” Young said.
“My dad is a premiership player and had a number of roles at Mounts over the years. I grew up as a young fella running around at Toolleen and I have heaps of photos of myself in the navy and white jumper.
“I am really looking forward to playing where I have some great memories.”
Former South Bendigo player Tyler McLeod has also signed with the Blues.
“We are really happy with our recruiting and are confident in bringing in some more midfield talent over the next couple of weeks to complement our current list,’’ Walsh said.
“We plan to have recruiting finalised prior to pre-season (training), which starts on November 8.
“I am looking forward to bringing the team together and getting the hard work started.”
