CHERYL HAYES HISTORY AT PROVINCIAL-PROVINCIAL/HUNTLY AND HUNTLY FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB.
CHERYL JOINED THE PROVINCIAL FOOTBALL CLUB 1969-70.
FOLLOWING HER FAMILY TO THEIR CHOSEN CLUB.
SHE SOON BECAME INVOLVED IN THE LADIES COMMITTEE RUNNING THE KIOSK EVERY HOME GAME, RUNNING RAFFLES, AND ORGANISING THE ANNUAL BALL.
SHE WAS SECRETARY OF THE LADIES COMMITTEE FOR EIGHT YEARS AND ALSO THE SECRETARY OF THE FOOTBALL CLUB FOR ONE AND A HALF YEARS AS NO ONE COULD BE FOUND TO DO THE JOB.
WHEN THE FOOTBALL CLUB JOINED THE HEATHCOTE FOOTBALL/NETBALL LEAGUE CHERYL WAS ASKED TO ORGANISE THE NETBALL SIDE OF THINGS.
SHE BECAME A DELEGATE FOR THE NETBALL FOR MANY YEARS. 15 SHE THINKS.
SHE WAS VICE PRESIDENT FOR ONE YEAR AND TREASURER FOR THREE YEARS.
SHE WAS THE FIRST COACH OF THE NETBALL AT THE CLUB.
SHE WON MANY TROPHIES, MAINLY MOST CONSISTANT AND AN A GRADE CLUB BEST AND FAIREST TROPHY IN 1987.
IN ADDITION SHE HELPED TO WORK THE KIOSK, UMPIRED, SCORED AND PLAYED.
SHE WAS ALSO A TEAM MANAGERESS OR UMPIRE FOR THE NETBALL ASSOCIATION ON A FEW OCCASIONS AT COUNTRY WEEK IN MELBOURNE WHICH SHE REALLY ENJOYED.
SHE WAS AWARDED A LIFE MEMBERSHIP OF THE PROVINCIAL / EAST BENDIGO SPORTS CLUB ON 25/9/83 BY PRESIDENT B .W. CAMPBELL AND SECRETARY J.C. SMITH.
THEN RECEIVED ANOTHER LIFE MEMBERSHIP OF THE HUNTLY FOOTBALL CLUB ON 15/9/93 BY PRESIDENT B .PALMER AND SECRETARY I. SLADDEN?.
SHE WAS GIVEN A 25 YEAR SERVICE PLAQUE IN 1994.
SHE WAS ALSO AWARDED THE BEST CLUBMAN TROPHY ONE YEAR.
DUE TO WORK COMMITMENTS SHE HAD TO FORGO HER BELOVED FOOTBALL AND NETBALL, HOWEVER SHE DID MANAGE TO KEEP UP WITH IT VIA HER SON SASCHA WHO PLAYED UNTIL 2003 BEFORE HE MOVED TO GEELONG.
