TIED WINNER OF 2010 MASKELL MEDAL!!
Liam tied with Cobden ruckman Levi Dare on 26 Votes. It was a nervous final round of voting with any one of four looking likely to win the award. But in the end Liam and Levi held on.
This is Liams second league best and fairest in 3 years and we at North Warrnambool are very proud!! Its an awesome achievement and gives massive recognition to an excellent player who leaves the field absolutely spent every game he plays!!
In other congratulations, our now very own young gun 17yr old Andrew McMeel (recruited from Emmanuel Hawks), took out the HFNL Rising Star Award. Its a great effort by a young lad who is highly regarded by us and now the league. Andy played nearly every game in the seniors this year apart from a couple where he rested a shoulder injury. Andy featured well for the Eagles in the Maskell Medal collecting 12 votes. Some exciting years ahead for this fast and elusive midfielder.
Congratulations again for Liam Ryan, Matthew Wines and Tom Batten on making the 2010 Team Of The Year!! Super effort and these boys have many good years ahead!
In netball MASSIVE CONGRATS to the Nth Warrnambool U/15 side who won the 2010 Premiership!!! Awesome effort girls!! U/13's and U/17's both went down in their games but played well and can hold their heads high!!
