The sweltering conditions on Monday 11th March had cooled significantly by the time kick off arrived at the charming surrounds of the Heathmere Football Club. In the still testing conditions, it was the younger players who showed the way as the match progressed at a keenly contested level . Youngsters such as Mitch Bunworth, Jordan Kane, Hamish Withers and Jay Moody seemed to relish the conditions and put on a cocktail of exquisite football skills. There were also polished performances from the more experienced brigade such as Rhys Egan, Daniel Falcone, Josh Chapman and Jarrod Hayse that led the watchers to think that the Tigers will be competitive in the HFNL in season 2013. The numbers were healthy as the Coaching panel ran their eye over the willing encounter.
Next assignement is the Boag's Pre Season Cup at Port Fairy on Saturday 16th as the Tigers take on Koroit and Hamilton Kangaroos, with the initial encounter timed to go at 10.40am. Keep watching this space for further updates.
