Senior Football
This was the round that the teams were supposed to step up and get another win on the board. Seymour had also been struggling, until Saturday. The wet weather made conditions a little slippery but that just meant that the team with the best basics over four quarters would get over the line.
The game started well for the Bulldogs, with plenty of contributors right across the ground; none more so than the two largest team members, Tim Little and Paul Kirby, who both seemed to relish the wet conditions.
Youngster Corey Mallon played his best game for the year, with plenty of dash and forward-line pressure.
Linc Wellington was solid over the four quarters.
The game was in the balance at the half-time break, with Tatura down by a small margin but still looked like they were in control of the game.
After half time, it looked as if the team had forgotten about playing as a team and supporting one another. The opposition ran away with the game in the third quarter and held a big lead at the last break.
Coach Paul Serra laid it on the line for the team and asked them to win the last quarter to show that the team was committed to getting back some pride for themselves. The end result saw Seymour comfortable winners in a disappointing effort.
After the game, Coach Paul Serra said the team had played so well for the last three weeks against top sides, which showed we are good enough, but there is a lack of commitment from a large number of players.
“We have plenty of work still to do this year. We have the players but they need to step back up again next week.”
Final Scores: Tatura 9, 11 65to Seymour 15,10 108
Reserves
The Reserves match this week started really well; the boys really got out of the blocks and showed how they can play. It was a close scoring game in the wet conditions. With Mark Eaton and James Walters both playing well around the ball, the forwards were getting plenty of opportunities to score.
Scott Thorn made a welcome return from injury and Brendan Vanderdonk was very damaging whenever he got the ball. He asked the team at half time not to fall away as they have in previous weeks and to show some spirit for each other.
A couple of good moves at three-quarter time saw the boys run away with the game. Seymour hit back to score a couple of times and get back to even. A couple of late goals saw the boys get a break to hold on for their first win for the season.
The coach asked all players to get to training this week and to look at making it two in a row.

Under 18s
The U/18s were back again this week and were in with a good show, even in the wet conditions. The game started well and the boys were playing really well as a team.
Aaron Dowell and Mason Argus set the scene with some great attacks on the football.
Jonathon Coe was getting plenty of the football in the middle and Pat Frappell worked very hard around the ground.
A small lead at the main break was the result of some good kicking and plenty of pressure all over the ground.
Ben Lolicato was particularly good down back, along with Wes Pogue. They both tackled very hard in the wet.
Jack Burt played well up forward and applied plenty of pressure in his best game so far this year.
The opposition came back late in the game though and, in the end, the boys couldn’t quite hold them off. The final result was a very close loss once again.
There were a few small mistakes at crucial times that made the difference and the boys will be working hard this week to iron these out.

A Grade Netball
Final Score: Tatura 21 lost to Swans 52
Best Tatura: Karen Manning (Hill Top), Ingrid Stava (Hot Rock), Sarah Bugoss (Tatura Video)
With Swans set to be potential grandfinalists Tatura had an immense task on their hands this week. With an injury to Zoe Rae during the week, the Tatura girls were forced to change their line up, and showed their adaptability by pushing the Swans players all the way. Karen Manning, Ingrid Stava and Sarah Bugoss placed a lot of pressure on the Swans goalers making them work for every goal. Renee Lea was very strong though the centre and came out on top of her match up, and Alex Bertram, Katie Thorn and Kendall Clarke attacked tirelessly all day. Coach, Gaye Eaton said that she was very happy with the girls game, and the score line didn’t give a true indication of the game they had played.
B Grade Netball
Final Score: Tatura 30 lost to Swans 59
Best Tatura: Jenna O’Neill (Hill Top), Erryn Smith (Tatura Video), Ebony Thorn.
Best Swans: Shinea Meka, Laura Moon, Courtney Bugg.
A close first quarter gave the Swans a fright and the Tatura girls the confidence to tackle the strong Swans line up head on. Jenna O’Neill was outstanding playing out of position in goals with her speed and accuracy and combined well with Elisha Fiddes. The defensive pressure across the court made it difficult for the Swans, but as the game wore on, the Swans experience prevailed and they outplayed the Tatura line up.
B Reserve Netball
Final Scores: Tatura 18 lost to Swans 47
Best Tatura: Emma Maddock (Tatura Flowers), Rachelle Moon (Tatura Video), Jade Barrett.
Best Swans: Britt Whitlock, Julia Colihole, Mim Kerr
Swans came out playing strongly all over the court, and while Tatura fought hard, they could not capitalise on the turnovers they achieved. Rachelle Moon worked tirelessly in defence, while Emma Maddock ran herself into the ground. The Swans however, took it up to Tatura all over the court and continued on their winning way.
Under 17’s
Final scores: Tatura 21 lost to Swans 38
Best Tatura: Grace Lovell (Silk), Narelle Lea (Tatura Video), Ash Monks (Tatura video)
Best Swans: Alessandra Muto, Laura Kelly, Maddie McKinnon
Swans jumped out of the gate with a flying start, and although the Tatura defence worked hard to create a number of opportunities the Swans took an eleven to four lead in the first quarter. The Tatura girls continued to try hard, but the Swans accuracy in goals was hard to beat. In the last quarter, the Tatura girls came out fired up and took the quarter eight goals to six, and to their credit ran the game out as hard as they could.
