Euroa Football/Netball Club
Coaches Newsletter No. 6
This is edition 6 of the Coaches Newsletter.
Well finally back on a safe ground and glad to be so. Given time in the future I would like to talk about what goes on over there as I have lots of stories regarding personal sacrifice and the way of life in that country. Anyway back to football.
Up to Round 6
I would have liked to return with more wins, but we have shown that when we are concentrating and being prepared to stick to what we can do well that we can be competitive. Unfortunately we have lost most of the credibility we gained from our first round win. Over the next few weeks we have opportunities to show that we have improved from last year. Still not enough continual pressure and application around the ground.
It is a long season and we need to individually look at areas where we can improve our game.
Its great that the reserves and under 18’s now have improved and been able to record some significant wins and put them into a position where they may be able to push for finals campaigns.
Stick at it as we have shown at times that we can match it with our opposition.
Lets all get to the ground believing we can win.
50 Games
Well done to Cameron THYER (Igor) on playing his 50th club game this week.
Training
In Euroa Tuesday and Thursday night and in Melbourne on Wednesday. Keep numbers high in Melbourne and no more excuses for not training.
Meals available after training at Euroa on Thursday night.
Team Rules
WE should all be wearing normal team uniform, black pants and the Euroa top. I would expect that the leadership group enforces this team rule. Hoodies can be worn over the top.
Remember all senior players are expected inside opposition clubrooms after away games and to have at least one drink. Soft drink will suffice.
Supporters senior player of the day
Round 6 Andrew BELL was voted as supporters best player and he received his $50 after the game. Winning ticket holder not known at this time.
Player tickets will be available for best senior player on the day as voted for by supporters. Tickets will cost $5. $50 will go to the purchaser of the player voted best player and $50 awarded to the player. This award will be presented with reserve and under 18 incentives after home games in rooms and Thursday night after away games.
Guy Morphet is co-ordinating ticket sales
Team Meeting
There will be a team meeting in the change rooms at 5.15 p.m. this Saturday night after the Mansfield game. The meeting will only take 15 minutes and is to discuss the football side of things as we get into the season.
Coaches tool of the week. (Month)
Assistant Coach Hinssy for the 50 meters given away whilst running in the under 18’s. Discipline Aaron.
Thanks to Aaron and Gavan for looking after things whilst I was away with work.
