Werribee Centrals Netballers continued their winning form to again have a clean sweep of wins this time against Belmont. Belmont were no real competition to the ladder leaders in all the senior Grades.
A Grade
Werribee Centrals 59 v. Belmont Lions 17
Centrals A Grade played a strong attacking game with Centrals defence getting their hands to everything. Centrals once again rotated all their bench proving they have plenty of depth to their A Grade side. Hailey Sildatke had a great game in GD & WD putting plenty of pressure on her opposition and was Centrals best on court. Centrals centre court controlled the ball and with some fast accurate passes into the goal circle things moved too quickly for the opposition. Centrals three goalers all shot well and worked hard together in the different goaling combinations. Centrals were able to pressure every pass Belmont had and were able to convert in the goal circle. Centrals three defenders also combined well with Ashlee Depetro causing many turnovers in Centrals favour. Fantastic team effort with the Centrals A Graders all working well as a team.
Best: Hailey Sildatke, Ashlee Depetro, Jenni Gardner
B Grade
Werribee Centrals 31 v. Belmont Lions 15
In windy conditions Centrals played slow steady netball to come away with a good win. All three goalers goaled well today and made great movement in the ring combined with some consistent shooting. Centrals defence in Amanda Wilson & Millie Hudson worked hard all game to limit Belmont's shots at goal. All players put in a great performance with second efforts playing a big contribution to the win. Emma Maycock had a good game today with some controlled accurate passing into Centrals goalers who capitalised on almost every shot at goal.
Best: Amanda Nielson, Amanda Wilson, Emma Maycock
C Grade
Werribee Centrals 37 v. Belmont Lions 26
Centrals C Grade started off strong in cold and windy conditions. Some bad passing in the 2nd and 3rd quarters allowed Belmont Lions back into the game. A determined Centrals C Grade went into the final quarter with all guns blazing and lifted the intensity all over the court. Centrals centre court in Kyrstie Smith & Melanie Cuthbert both worked hard this week and played some good controlled netball to lead their team into the final quarter. Centrals goalers Tania Redpath & Ellie Tubbs made a great goaling combination and this helped their side over the line. Brooke Short (GD) was a great contributor to Centrals win only allowing her opposing player to score 1 goal in the final quarter. A great team effort this week proving to be too strong for their opposition all over the court.
Best: Tania Redpath, Ellie Tubbs, Brooke Short
D Grade
Werribee Centrals 36 v. 27
Centrals D Grade came out firing today against tough opposition and 2nd on the ladder Belmont Lions. Melissa Bragg (GA) stepped up from the U17's to help out in D Grade this week and proved to be one of Centrals best working well in the goal circle with Shanade Tronson. Centrals defensive pressure was great with Melissa Praed, Kate Potts & Brooke Short all giving 100%. Kelly Cowlishaw (WD) back from an ankle injury this week did everything asked of her again today. Kelly Schicker was moved into the WA position and did some good passes into Centrals goalers. A great team effort with all players on the court giving it their all from the first whistle to the last whistle.
Best: Melissa Praed, Mel Bragg, Brooke Short
U17
Werribee Centrals 39 v. Belmont Lions 8
It was a strong Centrals U17 side who controlled the play all game. Kimberley Genge had a field day in goals backed up by Clarissa Melilli with both players shooting at their best. Mel Bragg (GD) was too strong for the Belmont Lions goalers getting her hands to everything in the air. A great win for the U17 girls.
Best: Kimberley Genge, Melissa Bragg, Clarissa Melilli
U15
Werribee Centrals 35 v. Belmont Lions 14
The under 15's have been working hard at training on improving their skills and this is certainly paying off on a Saturday. Centrals goalers Tayla Smith & Tarley Campbell shared the goal scoring and easily outclassed their opposition. With all seven players on the court giving 100% Centrals U15's were able to bring home the 4 points.
Best: Tayla Smith, Tarley Campbell, Emily Ashley
This week Centrals travel to Bell Post Hill who are another of the stronger netball Clubs in the Geelong Competition.
