Back to Back home games for the first time this year as we welcome our good friends from Bannockburn to Galvin Park. This match will be a real test against the ladder leaders as will the next few weeks as we come up against the other top four sides. We have been lucky to start the season off against what is now the lower placed clubs and now the real test of how far we have come will be put to the player groups to see how they will handle the increase in skill and abilities of the top teams.
A clean sweep for the club again last week at Winchelsea's expense. We must thank the Winch people for staying back with us after the game something we are trying to instil in our players as well on both home and away games. It develops camaraderie and friendship amongst the clubs if we can all do it which in time will develop our clubs and our league as places to enjoy your sport. The firsts had a good win as did the Reserves and U 18's and it was good to see the younger players in the best in David Todaro, Dean Cachia, Trent Cole and Devon Ellis. They are the future and they are showing us they can be.
The Netballers are just travelling along beautifully as they all hold down top ladder positions as we get into the middle of the season. The recruits are all responding well and making an impact in their grades which is good. The likes of Casey Price, Aysha Ward, Millie Hudson, Brooke Short & Tylah Hickey in the different grades all seem to be enjoying their roles at Centrals. Keep it up girls and perhaps we will see some silverware at the end of the year again.
Membership Tickets are now available from any of the committee/canteen or the bar and they again include membership to both the Italian Sports Club Werribee and Buckleys in Geelong so they are great value for $40.00 as they also get you into all home & away games so are really mandatory for all our supporters. Players need to finalise theirs with either Shane Grigg or Danny O'Malley now.
Players who do not have a sponsor yet need to have these in place urgently. Football is $300- and Netball $200- and includes your membership fee. Good value as your sponsor receives two membership tickets as well as promotional advertising of their business so try and get one together for both yourself and your club. Come on we need some more to commit now and give us time to advertise your sponsor.
Last week we did not have a function which then you would expect the players to stay around for a while, but alas no. This is the time when we should be all together discussing the game and the past week and support our club. We all know how much it costs to run the club so why not try and help us all by being their and bringing a friend along as well.
The next event is the $1000- draw which has been rescheduled to the 30th May and everyone has to sell/buy a ticket so if you have not received yours see Joe Pace or Adam Bills today. Don't leave it till the last moment to sell them. There is two draws so get in early.
To everyone who runs out this year for our great club hope you have had a enjoyable year as all we ask is for you to enjoy yourself, support your mates and your club and give your very best and be proud to wear the Green & Gold. Be a good Centurion.
We welcome more new sponsors to the club in Montgomery Wools Pty Ltd, Kennedy Plumbing Services (Williamstown), Robsal Welding (Werribee), Reece Plumbing Supplies (Newport), Ricky Govan Gardening and Landscaping (Werribee). Thankyou to all these people for joining the Centrals Supporters Group.
