Yes its our first game at home for the season as we welcome Inverleigh to Galvin Park and fingers crossed the new extensions will be complete so we can all see just how good they will be for us all in the years to come. The new lights are nearing completion and the new Netball Courts are at Tender stage so should be complete by our next home game.
Well not bad first up as I think we came up against one of the better sides we have seen in the GDFL in East Geelong last week. The seniors held their own for 65% of the game but the second quarter let us down. New Coach David Leatch was disappointed that we could not play as well for the full 100 minutes as we did for the rest of the game. New players in Alistair Burke & Mick Iordanis both showed they will be worthy Centurions as did Brendan Chugg and Luke Montgomery who have both returned to the club. Congratulations to Chuggy on being named our senior captain.
Good wins to the U 18's and Reserves and some great wins for the Netballers especially in A & B Grades and the newly formed U 15's nearly got there but they will build on this during the year.
Membership Tickets are now available from any of the committee/canteen or the bar and they again include membership to both the Italian Sports Club Werribee and Buckleys in Geelong so they are great value for $40.00 as they also get you into all home & away games so are really mandatory for all our supporters. Players need to finalise theirs with either Shane Grigg or Danny O'Malley now.
Players who do not have a sponsor yet need to have these in place urgently. Football is $300- and Netball $200- and includes your membership fee. Good value as your sponsor receives two membership tickets as well as promotional advertising of their business so try and get one together for both yourself and your club.
The social calendar has been posted on the clubs new website so go along and visit us at www.werribeecentalsfc.vcfl.com.au . Our first major function is the Annual Werribee Centrals Gold Cup Race meeting at the clubrooms on Anzac day starting at 7.00pm. Dress to impress and join the fashions on the field. Get a syndicate together or just buy a horse yourself to become a winner.
To everyone who runs out this year for our great club hope you have had a enjoyable year as all we asked is for you to enjoy yourself, support your mates and your club and give your very best and be proud to wear the Green & Gold.
We welcome Fab De Cesaris and THE GOOD GUYS at 161 Old Geelong Road Hoppers Crossing as a major sponsor in 2009. Thankyou Fab and hope we can push good business your way during the year to come. So for all your home electrical appliance needs go along and get a bargain from Fab and his helpful staff, they will only be too happy to assist.
We must thank those sponsors from last year and who we hope will again join us in 2009. Bakers Delight at Werribee Plaza, All Connections Plumbing, STA Traffic Management, Werribee Signs, Racecourse Hotel Werribee, Total Fleet Imaging, Plum Heating & Cooling, Airstyle Imports, McCormack Autos, Craftsman Office Interiors, Werribee Tile Centre/Lifestiles in Hoppers Crossing, John McDonald AMP Financial Planning, Bee Wear Promotions, Kwik Kopy Hoppers Crossing, Line Fall Concreting, Italian Sports Club of Werribee, Jens-Gaunt Real Estate, Hotts Cafe Hoppers Crossing, Jeff Walters Plumbing, Up2date Computer Technologies, Costas MITRE 10 Stores, 247 Ads P/L, Hudsons Master Dry Cleaners, Freedom Pools & Spa's, Manor Finish Panel Beaters, Skyblue Concreteing and of course Buckleys Entertainment Centre.
