Werribee Centrals played Anakie at Galvin Park and looking to strengthen their position in the competition. Centrals would be without four key A grade players who were away for the weekend.
A Grade:
Werribee Centrals 40 V. ANAKIE 18.
Centrals A Grade were four key players out this week, but it was still a good opportunity for our B Graders to step up, and this they did. It was great to see Centrals using different combinations and rotating their bench throughout the game. The whole team worked well together, bringing the younger players into the game, Paras Mackenzie played a blinder in GK and was Centrals standout.
Best: Paras Mackenzie, Ellie Tubbs, Tania Redpath
Goals: Ellie Tubbs 32, Madeline Hodgeson 6, Tania Redpath 2.
B Grade:

Centrals B Grade came out fast from the first whistle, capitalising on all of their shots at goal. Paras Mackenzie, Jade Terris and Janelle Bragg all worked in a great defensive combination. Renee DiGiacchino and Tania Redpath were in fine form working the ball in and around the goal circle. Emma Maycock led her team all the way, dominating the centre court. Under 17s
Werribee Centrals 32 v. Anakie 26
From the first centre pass it was a very physical body on body game and Anakie weren't going down without a fight. Coaches were proud of the on court players, as they stayed mentally strong and stood their ground the entire game. Chloe Case made a difference in the 2nd qtr, opening up the centre pass and feeding the ball in well to the goalers. Jenna Goricanec and Ellie Vincent combined brilliantly in the ring together and really show cased one another's assets. Maddison Knight, Ebony Bennet and Jacqueline lake worked extremely hard in the defence end. With the help of Caitlin Philipps and Jayde Parsons through the mid court. This was our best game all year and was really hard to pick our best today as everyone did the their jobs perfectly. Well done girls.
Best: Jenna Goricanec, Ellie Vincent, Caitlin Philipps .
Goals: Jenna Goricanec 25, Ellie Vincent 7
Under 15’s
Werribee Centrals 5 v. Inverleigh 32.
Abbey Domeney did really well in the ring today working on her splits and space. Tyra MacDonald, Miah Kleidon and Sumer Whitehead worked hard in the mid court and moved the ball around well. All defenders worked really well together and put the pressure on. Overall it was a really tough game for our developing under 15 side. Each game we take something away to work on and develop. Credit to the team they continue to work hard at the games and training. Great work girls!
Goals: Abbey 4
Best: Abbey Domeney, Emily Jo Maxwell, Kelcy Parsons
Next Saturday Centrals are all off to Winchelsea for what will be a very tough round of Netball.
