Who would have thought we are only a few days away from Xmas, 2021 will be all but over and then 2022 will be on us all in a flash.
2021 again saw our seasons interrupted by COVID and put our plans on hold once again as it has for many of us everywhere. We had close to 800 players take the field in their chosen sport from cricket to football and netball and in all grades in both Juniors and Seniors and the club must be congratulated to be able to do this for another year and we all look forward to be able to do even better in 2022. The continued growth in the number of Juniors in both boys and girls and the addition and growth of ladies footy is the most pleasing and we congratulate the committees for administering such large numbers and thank all the volunteers for their valuable time over the past 12 months. 2021 will also see the continued growth of the clubs new girls teams so any interested girls/families should contact the club.
Some other highlights for 2021 were:-
- The successful completion of a new storage shed and undercover medical facilities to Oval 1.
- The continuing provision of scholarships to local students and the large Fund Raising effort by the club to donate over $5,000- to Blue Ribbon Foundation, Cancer Research, Variety Club, BCA Pink Ribbon Foundation, Junior sport and other local charities which we support as a club.
Off the ground plans are well underfoot to continue to refurbish parts of the clubs facilities to include new changerooms for females teams, umpires facilities and hopefully upstairs areas for meeting and small functions. These will be subject to council approvals which we hope will be forthcoming in the New Year.
All the above could not have been achieved without your support and we hope to see you back in 2022 bigger, brighter and more often.
TO ALL THE SUPPORTERS. MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS OF WERRIBEE CENTRALS HAVE A GREAT BREAK AND SEE YOU ALL IN THE NEW YEAR.
