Blood Suzuki A Grade Cup:
Werribee Centrals v East Geelong
Werribee Centrals played controlled and consistent netball throughout each quarter, with all nine players earning their court time. Werribee Centrals Nicole Stewart’s work rate was 100% all game, combining well with Amy Giaini(WA), with their speed and fitness playing a big part. Centrals rotated their bench at half-time
bringing on young Janelle Bragg who continues to perform at her best each week. Centrals defence end was superb, claiming numerous tips and intercepts that came their way. At the other end of the court, Eleanor Tubbs (GS), moved well, in and around the goal circle, and worked in a great combination with Centrals goaler’s Renee Digioacchino and Tania Redpath, Eleanor putting plenty of goals onto the Centrals Scoreboard. Coach Lina Luta happy with the Centrals overall performance throughout each quarter, with the good standard netball played out to the final whistle

Werribee Centrals v East Geelong
Disappointing result with Centrals losing their first game of the season. Centrals struggled to work the ball and hit their shots in the first ¼. Centrals slowly chipped away trying to come back but unfortunately with our turnovers at critical points Centrals couldn't get there in the end. Defenders Leigh Stewart and Paras Mackenzie tried there best on defence with Clare Atherton stepping up from C grade to help us out due to Amanda Nielsen being injured. Centrals will need to come back, train hard and redeem themselves next week against Inverleigh.

Werribee Central 48 s v East Geelong 27
After a few poor starts C Grade started the game with high intensity and didn't stop all game.
We knew it would be a physical game but Clare Atherton, Holly Ellul and Amber Smith in goals worked continually hard with great shots all game.
The mid court with Madi Hayes and Rebecca worked amazing again with the feeding into the ring and pressure down the court. Diandra Sellers, Megan Cunningham and Jo Crozier defensive pressure from the start was great and bringing the ball into attack was impressive.
Talking, patience, continual pressure and backing each other under tough conditions today showed in our final score. Great team win today. Well done C Grade

Werribee Centrals 44 v East Geelong 35
Werribee Centrals were looking forward to meeting East Geelong for a good contested match. The girls were taken aback from Easts pressure and were down by 6 at quarter time. Centrals turned it around in the second quarter by playing slow and steady netball and closed the 6 goal gap. Werribee centrals made some changes at half time and put the pressure on East which caused turned over balls. Centrals capitalized on this and converted from each turn over. Centrals ended up taking control of the game to win a comfortable by 9.

The girls had a massive improvement on last week today. They started strong and kept up the momentum despite the weather. They put pressure on the ball the whole way down the court which opened up opportunities for our defenders. Midcourt did a great job of linking and creating space. Defensive pressure from centre pass worked well today.

Werribee Centrals 18 v East Geelong
The girls came to play this week against a tough East Geelong. It was a very contested and aggressive game. The conditions were tough and unfortunately we couldn't capitalize on intercepts from the defense. Maddison Knight was outstanding in defense with Zoe Piccolo. Lilly Smith had some great passages of play passing to Tyra McDonald. Sophie Plessar was strong in attack, unfortunately we could capitalize as a playing group. Due to a error on the game sheet Under 15’s have come away from the game with the 4 points.
Goals:- C Case 15 S Plessa 3
Best: M Knight T McDonald S Plessa
Centrals are home to Inverleigh this week in another tough game and hopefully a few of the people who enjoyed the day so much this weekend will return.
