Centrals needed to get some confidence back against Thomson and show themselves they can play good football in this competition even though losing Tyrone Montebruno through injury during the week. Centrals never play the narrower Thomson ground that well but Steve Morgan & Matt Smith certainly got the side of to a great start which enabled Jason Butty to get on the board very early in the quarter. Two more quick goals to Butty who was enjoying the space to lead into and Centrals were away. Thomson to their credit fought back and the margin closed.
Kicking with the wind in the second saw Centrals kick away with strong tackling, and better use of the ball with David Hall showing a clean pair of heals to his opponents.
Going back into the wind Centrals chipped the ball around, not always the best options sometimes but it was working as they broke the Thomson lines with good run as Daniel Boyd and Michael Cassidy continually got Centrals forward. At the last change being 10 goals in front it could have been just run the game out but Centrals started hard and with Jason Butty marking everything up forward Luke Speziale and Nick Byrne playing solid games after coming into the Seniors ran out easy winners kicking 11 goals to finish the game well on top.
Final Scores:- Werribee Centrals 26.19 – 175 to Thomson 5.12 - 42
Goal Kickers:- J Butty 9, D Hall 4, M Cassidy 3, M Smith 2, B McNicol 2, L Speziale 2, D Boyd 2, M Walson & S Rathbone 1 each.

The Reserves faced off against the bottom side in Thomson and had a couple of late withdrawals making this side a little inexperienced. After last weeks disappointment against North Geelong the reserves needed to bounce back. Centrals started well with some great tackling resulting in the first 2 goals within the first 5 minutes, unfortunately some players thought the job was done at that stage and Thomson kicked 2 late goals to go into quarter time 3 points up.
The second and third quarters were not up to the standard to win games of football and Thomson was the more desperate and harder at the ball and went into 3 quarter time with a handy lead.
The last quarter was a vast improvement by Centrals but it was too little too late losing by 15 points.
Final Scores:- Werribee Centrals 9.6 – 60 to Thomson 11.10 – 76
Goal Kickers:- L Cachia 2, R Quarrier 2, C Wilson 2, D Cachia, M Patterson & J Drohomirecki 1 each.
Best Players:- R Qarrier, M Paterson, L Cachia, D Kennedy, N Beasley & B Doyle.
