Werribee Centrals played East Geelong in round 13 of GDFL Netball and are gearing up for another strong finals showing.
A Grade: Centrals 52 v. East 26
Centrals started of very strong today with all players working together proving that what they have been working on at training is paying off giving them confidence coming into finals. Dani Stewart and Emma Maycock providing the drive that Centrals have been looking for in the attack end an impressive game from Emma Maycock. Centrals defensive pressure all over the court slowed East down allowing many intercepts to be taken by all
team members. Noni McClure playing an outstanding game in GK taking multiple balls in and around the circle, with fast moving feet.
Great whole team effort today by all Centrals girls.

B Grade: Centrals 39 v. East 24
Centrals B Grade had to work hard for their win today with East Geelong creating a lot of pressure all over the court.
The defenders had a great game taking many rebounds, causing turn overs and taking intercepts.
Centrals had passages of good structure working the ball down court and into the goal circle.
The goalers had to work hard to get the ball today but didn't give up and shot well.
Over all everyone fought hard and worked together for another good win.

C Grade: Centrals 45 v. East 20
It took a bit to settle in the first quarter but Centrals started to work together as a team. Paras Mackenzie and Janelle Bragg played great in defense combined with Stacey Flack and Melanie Cuthbert. Centrals were patient with working the ball down the court today to then be able to score.
Clarissa Melilli and Kim Genge shot well but when Clarissa injured her ankle Kyrstie Smith stepped into goals to provide the much-needed assistance. Some lovely drives from Michelle Hunter, Melanie Cutherbert, Kyrstie Smith and Stacey Flack kept the momentum flowing throughout the game. Centrals only beat East Geelong by 3 goals the last time they met so it was great to see that the improvement and win by more than 20 goals.

D Grade: Centrals 38 v. East 25
Werribee Centrals D Grade came away with a well-deserved win. After a couple of tough weeks missing players from all positions on the court they welcomed back Amber Smith who was a great asset to the goaling circle. Amber Smith and Holly Ellul both were finding their methods of working together a fantastic combination. Megan Noonan, Sandy Andrews and Emily Ashley worked tirelessly bringing the ball down in strong forward
drives up and down the court. Tylah Hickey backs up the attackers with great movement and hands over the ball. Diandra Sellers gave her
all in the defensive ring, with Natasha Piccolo and Sarah Clarke both away. All girls stepped up across the four quarters to come away with a win and show their versatility with most playing two positions. Alison Ashley also stepped in to offer great instruction and confidence in the younger D Grade side.
Werribee Centrals walk away wanting to work on the game intensity and team talk which they know will be an invaluable asset to us come finals time.

Under 17s Centrals 34 v. East 22.
From the word go it was goal to goal against the strong East Geelong side. With a few intercepts and smart play Centrals was able to take the lead and with each quarter increasing it. Paras McKenzie was a standout in GK shutting down their main goaler with also Meg Noonan and Janelle Bragg controlling the mid court. A great game by all players today.

Under 15's Centrals 20 v. East 21
With only 6 players Centrals came out strong but with a few mistakes East Geelong took the lead by one goal. Bethany Doyle was one of the standouts today in the mid court creating lots of movement around the goal circle. Jade Terris and Vanessa Grillo also had great games taking many intercepts.

Next week Centrals are at home at Galvin Park Netball courts to play another strong club in Inverleigh.
