Centrals playing the Belmont Lions on their own turf is always difficult and this game needed to be won to maintain a position in the top five. With many players still missing as the club has over 18 injuries it would not be easy. Centrals started off slowly but came out firing in the 3rd quarter and put the game out of reach with Shane Weatherly repelling the ball time & time again backed up by Michael Knight. Centrals back half have been inspirational over the past few weeks and continue to make it difficult for their opponents. With Shaun McGuiness missing from what was a blunder by the umpires and the League it made it even more satisfying. Brendan Chugg came under a lot of attention from the opposition but got the hard ball as did many of Centrals players. Now for Bell Post Hill at home.

In the reserves after a tight game Belmont came out on top. Centurions fell down on the forward line in the last quarter missing opportunties but then again with a lot of players missing and fill ins not being match fit perhaps this was not such a bad result but will mean they will have to win against the likes of Bell Post Hill next week to stay in touch with the final five.

The U 18s (Colts Biv 2) had another great win at the expense of top team Geelong Amatuers. They now take top position on ladder in Division 2 after 5 wins in a row. Perhaps its now time to see some of these players up in the seniors for a couple of weeks as it would be great experience coming into the finals.
Werribee Centrals 14.10.94 v Geelong Amateurs 10.6.66
Goals: L.Cachia 3, M. Gatti 3, B. Wharton 2, B. Wilson2, B. Germon, C. Hockins, S, Masoe, & J. Wilson 1.

This week we are at home to Bell Post Hill and wins are a must and playing last years Premiers will really put us to the test.
