Werribee Centrals Netballers ended the home and away season on a high with five great wins against Belmont.
A Grade
Werribee Centrals 79 v. Belmont 23
A great finish to a great season for the Centrals A Grade. Centrals put in four solid quarters to cement 2nd place on the ladder. Emma Maycock played
a great game in the WA position and Maggie Lind put plenty of goals on the scoreboard for Centrals. Centrals goaling combination all worked well together and Centrals defence of Olivia Mitchell, Amanda Wilson & Maria Masei all put in great performances to ensure Centrals are ready for the second semi's next week.
Best: Emma Maycock, Maggie Lind, Danni Stewart
B Grade
Werribee Centrals 75 v. Belmont 23
With ten players this week Centrals were able to form some strong working combinations all over the court. Centrals put on a strong performance in
defence with Melaea Fonua playing one of her best games for the season. All three goalers shared the goal scoring duties with Natalie Ramsdale leading
her team around the centre court.
Best: Melaea Fonua, Emma Richards, Natalie Ramsdale
C Grade
Werribee Centrals 43 v. Belmont 13
Centrals C Grade tried some different combinations with Megan Hill driving the ball accurately down the court. Hailey Sildatke was awesome in defence
and at the other end of the court Kim Genge had a field day in goals and was the one to boost up the score-line. Katherine Travers returned from
injury and was playing a great game before going down in the 3rd quarter with an injury which is hopefully not too serious. Centrals C Grade lifted it up
a notch in the final quarter and worked hard to keep possession. C Grade will get a week off next week as they finished top of the ladder - undefeated.
Best: Hailey Sildatke, Kim Genge, Stacey Flack
D Grade
Werribee Centrals 50 v. Belmont 19
Centrals came out firing determined to take a quick lead. Centrals had a fine goaling combination all day and the defence did everything that was asked of them. Sandy Andrews took control of the centre court leading her team all the way. With a couple of injuries in the 3rd quarter Centrals were down to just six players in the final quarter. This did not deter the Centrals D Grade who just stepped up to the plate and ran away with the lead.
Best: Sandy Andrews, Beth Lipscombe, Andrea Beasley
U17's
Werribee centrals 70 v. Belmont Lions 3
Centrals came out strongly from the first whistle. Coach Hailey Sildatke tried a few different combinations with Emily Ashley stepping up from the U15's to help out in the centre court. Centrals U17's put in four consistent quarters and outclassed their opposition all over the court. Centrals U17's will get a week off next week as well as they too finished top - undefeated.
Best: Meg Noonan, Amber Smith, Sarah Clarke
