THIS Mother's Day weekend, Werribee Centrals will turn pink as players like Stacey Flack, Kimberley Genge and Riley Dorgan (above) take part in Pink Footy and Netball Day to raise funds for breast cancer.
Money raised by the sale of pink merchandise on Saturday will go to the Breast Cancer Network Australia and support its work in ensuring women diagnosed with breast cancer are provided with the best information, services and support.
Club president Shane Grigg urged Wyndham residents to get behind the initiative. "Pink Footy and Netball Day is a great opportunity for the whole community to put on a show of strength and support for women affected by breast cancer. We hope that everyone will come down, get involved and cheer on the teams."
Matches start at 1pm at Galvin Park, Shaws Road, Werribee. Details: Alan Stewart on 0409144634.
