Today we welcome Corio to Galvin Park for the last round of the year before finals commence in a weeks time. Its been a successful season so far for many reasons with the girls playing on the new netball courts this season and of course the improvement we have seen in all grades within the club. We continue to see improvements to our facilities and with last weeks announcement of funding from council for 50% of the netball lights together with $150,000- for landscaping and spectator area enhancements we will only be in a better position for season 2011.
More congratulations as we acknowledge Danni Stewart and Jenni Gardner from A Grade who have both been selected for Victoria in the Indoor Netball Championships to be held in October. They join Maria Masai as Victorian representatives. Not a bad effort for our small club. The girls are holding a fund raising night so if anyone has any items for a auction or want to donate to offset the girls costs please see one of the committee. It would be good to be able to assist and further the girls netball journey.
Players who still have not fully paid for membership tickets and those who still owe for equipment purchased thru the club must see Shane Grigg and finalise this week. If you are unsure just ask.
Our next major event is the Presentation Evening at the Italian Sports Club on Sept 17th. Everyone should have tickets by now to sell. All players have to sell two. For more info on all your club news and events just visit the clubs website at www.werribeecentralsfc.vcfl.com.au .
Tickets for the major raffle to be drawn tonight should be back sold by this afternoon at latest.
Tickets for the $1000- draw are also being handed out and we all have two to sell as well so get yourselves ready by identifying who you are bringing along.
We need all these events to be successful to ensure we wind up the year on a positive note financially.
To everyone who runs out this year for our great club hope you have had a enjoyable year as all we asked is for you to enjoy yourself, support your mates and your club and give your very best and be proud to wear the Green & Gold. Be a good Centurion.
Sponsor of the week is the Good Guys In Hoppers Crossing who continue to support the club. They have donated a TV for our raffle drawn later today. Look at the back of your membership card as this gives you a big discount when you visit them. Call in and say hello to Fab and staff, say you are from Centrals and get the best of service and your discount. I have tried it and can vouch for both.
