Werribee Centrals Netball Club is excited to welcome Australia Post as a sponsor for the 2010 netball season.
The club will also realise its dream of playing on its own courts at Galvin Park, with their first game set for Saturday 10 April.
"We are delighted to have Australia Post come on board and their assistance will go towards funding lights for the new courts so that games can be played in the evenings," said Werribee Netball Club spokesperson, Melinda Dobai.
"Australia Post is proud to sponsor the Werribee Centrals Netball Club and we are looking forward to cheering on the girls in all of their games," said Werribee Post Office Manager, Danny Marando.
"It’s a great opportunity to get behind a local sports club and we realise the importance of supporting these talents in our own community.
The Werribee Centrals Sports Club was formed in 1970 and was originally just two football sides before adding a cricket team. Since then, the club has grown considerably to include more senior and junior football and cricket sides, as well as the addition of netball teams to total approximately 1,000 members.
"Our netball club has continued the successful tradition of the Werribee Centrals Sports Club by winning Premierships each year of the competition. Unfortunately, we still need sponsors to assist with the funding for our new lights and we greatly appreciate all the support we receive from businesses in the area," says Melinda.
The Werribee Centrals Netball Club will play their opening A grade game against North Geelong at their brand new courts on Saturday 10 April at 2pm.
Werribee Centrals Sports Club President, Shane Griggs, presented Australia Post Retail Area Manager, Heather Stritthof and Werribee Post Office Manager, Danny Marando with membership tickets to the club.
