NEWTOWN & Chilwell coach Jason Woolley insists the GFL A-Grade netball competition has rapidly improved in his four years at the Eagles.
The Eagles won their fourth straight premierships since he took the role at the Elderslie Reserve after his side held off South Barwon 51-42 in Saturday’s grand final.
“Honestly, you never really get used to being in this position and the competition across the board has really gone up the last year,” Woolley said.
Eagles captain Danielle Stewart was the standout in the game’s opening minutes and looked every chance to claim a third straight best on court medal.
“I thought she was up there, she clearly catches the umpire’s eye,” Woolley said.
“She always shows that she’s a big game player and she proved it again this week even though she was crook in bed for most of the week.
“I can’t speak highly enough of Dani, the work she puts into her season makes performances like today a testament to her.”
