NEWTOWN & Chilwell will advertise its coaching position at the end of the year but don't read too much into it, says president Noel O'Dwyer.
Eagles coach Simon Sutterby is nearing the end of his two-year contract, making the position up for grabs at the end of the year.
"His contract expires at the end of this year and all three (coaching) positions, firsts, seconds and thirds (under 18s) will be advertised, Simon has been told that," O'Dwyer said.
"He was given a two-year appointment and he can apply for the position if he wants too.
"But we'll pick the best applicant, that's for sure, it's part of the constitution."
Sutterby has not enjoyed a successful season so far.
Touted as being one of the big improvers in 2010, the Eagles have only won five games.
They received more pain on Saturday when they were handed an 82-point pummeling at the hands of rivals St Joseph's, their biggest defeat of the year.
One of the major reasons for optimism at Elderslie Reserve this year was that a host of new players had joined the club.
But many of those have been struck down through injury while a list of others departed the club before the clearance deadline; including Chris Moreland, Matthew Hoe, Dean Oakley and Will Verco with Leigh Morrison and Adrian Robinson returning to Newcomb.
"You need your full side out there to be competitive and, unfortunately, we haven't been able to do that every week," O'Dwyer said.
"I think you'll probably find that their original clubs are in the finals and they want to play finals."
One big positive has been the new facilities opened by the Eagles.
"It's been absolutely fantastic to have the facilities we've got and at the end of the season we'll build new netball changerooms for the girls," O'Dwyer said.
