This is a huge weekend for our football club. The final round of the home and away season and it couldn’t get any bigger than this!
This weekend we are celebrating 200 Senior Games for Jason Carstairs. Two hundred games at any club is an outstanding effort, but 200 senior games is simply a monumental achievement. Well done Cas!!!
This weekend we also celebrate the fact that all eight of our senior football and netball sides are now assured of playing in the finals. That in itself is a huge effort and it takes many people at the club to achieve that sort of success. Well done to the coaches, players and the committee on a job well done. With the A Grade and the Thirds assured the double chance come finals time and the other six teams eager to make things happen, you just never know what September will bring. Good luck to everyone as we strive to win Premierships over the next month.
Tonight is the annual Seafood Night. Plenty of tickets have been sold, but if you are still after one, please see Rastus or anyone on the Committee. The night kicks off at 7pm with seafood and drinks til 10pm. 1st prize $3000, 2nd $1000, 3rd $500 and 4th – 8th money back!
Our Under 16s are in the Grand Final tomorrow at Bairnsdale and we wish them the best of luck. They have had a great year and are deserving of a Premiership flag. Following the game, the Junior Presentation Night will be held back here at the clubrooms starting from 5pm.
We welcome the old foe across the Snowy for our fourth clash this season and look forward to some tough games but more importantly the four points heading into finals time.
Go Seagulls!
