This weekend will be a huge weekend for the Lakes Entrance Football Netball Club.
On the field we are in desperate need of a Senior victory following three straight losses including the heartbreaking one point loss to Paynesville last weekend.
While off the field, the day is also very significant as we are fundrasining for Melon's Cottage.
'Melon’s Cottage is just that – a cottage set up to assist Victorian families who have children with leukaemia/cancer or are bereaved to have some much needed respite. The cottage will be available free of charge for a week at a time and all bookings are managed by Challenge – Supporting Kids with Cancer. The cottage is fully self contained and has two bedrooms, a kitchen and lounge room, laundry and bathroom. The cottage grounds contain a lovely memorial garden, a swing set and off street parking. It also has a small herb garden and strawberries for families to enjoy!'
We will be running a raffle at the gate and the canteen while there will also be rattle tins going around the ground.
- 1st Prize - lunch for 4 at Wyanga Park Winery (thanks to Wyanga Park Winery)
- 2nd Prize - trailer load of wood - thanks to the Lakes Entrance Football Club
- 3rd Prize - a big chocolate freckle donated by MMM truffles together with a nice bottle of wine
Meanwhile Darren Chester will be umpiring the Reserves before having his head shaved for cancer awareness.
Darren has already committed $1000 to the cause while Tim Bull has bid $300 to see DC have the locks chopped. Any further donation on the day would be more than welcome!!! The shaving duties will go to the highest bidder!
Kids [and others] can also have their hair sprayed fancy colours for a small donation.
If you can't make it on the day, or would like to make a donation, the Melon's Cottage bank details are below:
