This week junior presidents meet with the commissioner to further discuss junior footy for 2020.
All clubs agreed on a modified draw, 7 rounds, 6 games commencing 26th July 2020.
We will play 4 home games, the first being against Lucknow on the 26th July.
We are very fortunate to be in a position to be able to play, however this does come with return to play protocol that must be adhered to.
The commissioners will keep a close eye on how we abide by the protocols and review the decision after the first round.
I encourage everyone to ensure we do the right thing so that the kids get the most out of the season.
This includes:-
- “ Only spectators necessary to support participation” will be allowed to attend.
- The definition agreed on is parents / guardians and sibling.
- Officials, volunteers, coaches ect are permitted to attend, although we have been requested to keep these numbers to a minimum.
- Social distancing applies, no more than 10 in a group, 1.5 m apart. We will coordinate with the visiting club president to maintain social distancing.
We will encourage people to stay in or around their cars.
- We will need to adhere to sanitising and ensuring no equipment is shared.
- There will be no change rooms & no canteen.
- We will encourage those who don’t need to be there to leave once their child has completed playing.
- Game times will vary a little from last year with 20 minutes between games to allow change overs.
- No one is permitted on the ground apart from players, coaches, runners and trainers. Even in the under 10’s necessary spectators will need to remain behind the fence.
- There will be limited parking available and access only via the Bowls Club end.
There will be a lot of cleaning, sanitising, and volunteers required to ensuring social distancing is maintained so please let me know if you are prepared to help.
Both the AFL and EGFNL return to play protocols have to be adhered to.
It is important we all work together, delivering the same message.
We will provide more information as its made available.
It was a great result for junior football, so let’s make sure we all do the right thing.
