The Lakes Entrance Football Netball Club have been training for several weeks in both the footy and the netball with excellent numbers on the track for this time of year.
The Thirds are now set to start their 2012 campaign with the first official training session next Monday 27th February starting at 5pm at the Lakes Entrance Oval.
Thirds coach Nathan Pegler said it was a great chance for the players to come down and start getting some run in their legs heading into the season proper.
“We’ve had a few of the boys training with the seniors over the last few weeks and that has been great. Now we really want to see the guys that haven’t turned up yet but have said they are playing and get all the boys together”.
“The Thirds is a really important part of our Club and we at the Club want to see as many of these young guys playing footy as we can. There are a number of players coming out of the juniors and they have been a successful side in recent years so we are looking forward to seeing them take the step up to the next level”.
“We are starting at 5pm this Monday and going to follow training with a pie night for the lads so hopefully that can drag a few more in”, Pegler laughed.
Training will continue on Monday’s and Wednesday’s until the March long weekend. Any player that has played for Lakes in the past is certainly welcome to come to training while any new players to town the Club would love to get on board.
