GENERAL CLUB INFORMATION
BY – LAWS
The Monbulk Junior Football Club is run by a Committee of Volunteers, according to a set of by-laws registered at the Corporate Affairs Commission. By-laws can only be submitted and / or amended at the Annual General Meeting of the Club, on a majority vote of the members present.
Notice of Motion for any such amendment or addition must be received by the Secretary at least 30 days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting.
REGISTRATION FEES and MEDICAL INSURANCE
Monbulk Junior Football Club Registration fees for the 2011 season will be $140.00 per Player, & $200.00 for two or more Players from the same Family.
This fee will include entry to all Home games at Monbulk – key tags will be issued upon payment of fees.
All Players must be registered and membership fees paid to ensure they are covered for Medical Insurance by the Dandenong Ranges Junior Football League.
Any injuries incurred during the course of a match should be reported to the Team Manager on the day or to the Committee within four weeks of occurrence.
MONBULK AUS-KICK CLINIC
Players registered with the Monbulk Junior Football Club are also offered subsidised membership of the Monbulk ‘Aus-Kick’ Clinic, which is held on Saturday mornings from 8.30-10.00am during the A.F.L season.
RED CROSS
Our Committee has once again requested the services of the Red Cross Ambulance team to be in attendance at our home matches this year. The Committee is confident that the cost involved is well compensated by the reassurance of having immediate attention in the advent of injury to players both from our own as well as visiting teams. Please support any raffles or fund-raisers held during home games, the proceeds of which are used to offset the cost of having this service.
UNDER 10’s RULES
In keeping with the ruling of the Victorian Country Football League, the Under 10 Competition within the Dandenong Ranges Junior Football League will continue to operate as non-competitive, as instigated for season 2001. As such, there will be no finals series for Under 10’s and Umpires will not award ‘Best & Fairest’ votes. However, the usual weekly & annual Monbulk Club awards will remain.
PLAYER MILESTONES
Our Club recognises milestone achievements by all Players – for 50, 100, 150 games – generally at the closest home game after the milestone has been reached.
Parents are most welcome to prepare their own banners and run-through’s – we will supply paper and poles if required!
‘BEST CONDUCTED TEAM’ CLUB AWARDS
These annual awards are conducted by the DRJFL and are aimed at maintaining a high standard of conduct by both players and Club Officials. Each team has an allocation of 15 points each week, awarded for conduct both on and off the field. Points are deducted by the Field Umpires for any infringement of the rules. At the end of the season, the Team, and consequently Club, with the best conduct record is presented with the award/s at the end-of-season Dinner.
At Monbulk, we have been successful in winning Team awards on many occasions in the past and we encourage all Officials, Players, Spectators and members to maintain our high standards again this season.
TEAM UNIFORM
Points are deducted in the ‘Best Conducted Award’ for Players without the correct team uniform. Football Jumpers are issued to all players at the beginning of the Season, and will be collected after the final game. Maroon shorts and socks are required to be worn by all Players.
Socks and shorts can be purchased from the Club.
All property should be labeled – we tend to gather up quite a collection of gear which is left behind after almost every match ….. it helps to know who left it there.
MOUTHGUARDS
It is a policy of the M.J.F.C. that all players must wear a mouthguard during a match. This rule was introduced for the benefit of protecting our players and, consequently, no player will be permitted on the field without one.
Mouthguards are available for purchase from the Monbulk Amcal Chemist, or alternatively, Simon Rourke – Dental Technician – has been assisting our players by preparing personalised molded Mouthguards.
Simon can be contacted on Ph: 9808 0556 for any further enquiries.
MATCH PREPARATION
Umpires will inspect all Players prior to a match. Please note:
· All Players should supply their own medical tape for strapping of ankles etc.
· NO jewelry- including earrings, watches etc – is to be worn. Fingernails need to be trimmed.
· Taping of studs or sleepers is not allowed – all must be removed.
· Please ensure footy boots are in good condition – i.e., no metal wiring exposed on stops. Aluminum stops or aluminum tipped stops are OK.
· In accordance with VCFL Rules, no Junior aged players shall be allowed to wear gloves.
· Bike shorts may be worn under footy shorts, however they should be either skin colour or the same colour – maroon - as Club shorts.
TRANSPORT
It is the responsibility of parents to arrange their child’s transport to and from the matches. However, if anyone has problems with transport, please contact your Coach or Team Manager who may be able to assist.
CLUB VOTING SYSTEM
DRJFL Umpires shall vote on a 3.2.1 basis for Players in matches under their control. Any player found guilty by the League Tribunal will not be eligible to win Best & Fairest’ Award in that year.
Monbulk Club Awards – are presented on the basis of weekly match votes. Three envelopes are allocated per team per game. The Coach receives one to nominate his 3.2.1 Votes. The other 2 envelopes are to be distributed by the Team Manager to different parents or supporters each week to record their votes. These sealed envelopes are then retained until the end of season vote-count night.
COACHING & TRAINER’S COURSES
All Coaches in the DRJFL are required to have a Level 1 Coaching Accreditation. Our Club Coaches all have this accreditation, or are in the process of attaining it. The League continues to provide access to both Coaching and Trainers courses at regular intervals. Anyone interested please ask the committee.
