Girls Football History in Healesville
Healesville has a proud history in girls football with our first all girls team in the YJFL Youth Girls competition in 2011. Healesville is also one of the inaugural members of the Eastern Region Girls Football League (ERGFL). Since 2011 Healesville has fielded at least girls team in either the YJFL, ERGFL or AFL Outer East.
2020 - No competition due to CO-VID
2019 - the club fielded 3 teams in U12, U14 and U16. The girls achieved two premierships in U12s and U16s, Scarlett Potter won the U16 League Best and Fairest and Paisley Stock and Brylee Anderson finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in U12s. We also had multiple representatives in the Interleague.
2018 - we introduced our second team into the girls competition in the U16s and both the U12 and U16s girls both made the preliminary finals. Eden Minney finished equal 3rd in the league best and fairest and Mia Erickson finished equal 4th.
2017 - Once again we fielded an U12s team and made it to week one of the finals.
2016 - we fielded a single all girls team and made it to week one of the finals. The season also saw two of our Healesville girls achieving top 10 finishes in the League Best and Fairest with Jacinta Scragg taking out first place and Olivia Oude-Meilink finishing in 7th.
In 2015, Healesville entered an U12 Girls team in the combined EFL/DRJFL (now known as ERGFL). This competition started with 12 teams over 2 age groups in 2015, expanded in 2016 to 36 teams across 4 age groups and in 2017 has more than doubled again with 89 teams expected to take part.
In 2014, Ally Wenhuda, Jarrah Kelly and Danni Jones represented the YJFL in the Vic Metro Football Championships Grand Final and Caitlyn Parker was selected in the YJFL Division 2 Team.
In 2013, Sami Ison-Johnson was selected to represent the YJFL in the AFL Vic Metro Championship and received further honours representing Victoria in AFL Indigenous Youth Girls Championship.
In 2011, Marlee Neubaur was selected to represent Victoria in the U16 Girls Secondary School team.
