2016 Competition Rules
1. Fishing to take place between Flags. From approx 7km from the Nyah Boat Ramp.
2. Fishing times Saturday lines down 7.00am - lines up 6.00pm Sunday lines down 7.00am lines up 11.00am. No fish will be measured after the close of fishing each day.
3. Bank fishing times : Saturday only, Lines down 8.00am – lines up 5.00 pm 4. Boats will be permitted to leave 1/2 hour before lines down both mornings but are not to start fishing before
designated times.
5. NSW fishing regulations apply at all times and all competitors are to hold a current fishing licence. Limit 2 rods per person, 2 hooks on attended rod and one on second rod, Juniors limited to 1 rod each. Lures accepted.
6. Two persons per boat except where Juniors are entered, three persons per boat with one adult. Maximum 4 lines per vessel. Boats that have junior entrants are made up of two under sixteen and one adult or two adults and one under sixteen. All Boats are limited to four rods. Only two catch point prizes will be issued per winning Boat.
7. Bank fishing is permitted for those without boats in the designated area only. This section of the fishing comp has different entry fees and prizes than the boating section. The entry fee covers fishing only, no meals etc. are included in the price.
8. No fishing is to done by contestants or any other person from any boat used for accommodation purposes. Boats used for accommodation will be checked at the start of fishing each day. 9. A points system applies with 1 point awarded per 1cm of fish. Fish will be measured to the nearest 0.5cm and 1/2 points will be awarded. Total catch points receive a prize for each person. 60 cm Cod = 60 points, 35cm Yellow Belly = 35 points.
10. Only fish named and of size stated will be measured to claim points. COD must be 55cm or bigger. All Natives are CATCH & RELEASE ONLY. YELLOWBELLY must be 30cm or bigger. Points will not be awarded to any native fish that is not returned to the water alive.
11. Native fish will be measured by marshals who will be patrolling the river at all times. Their decision is final and no protests will be accepted.
12. "CATCH, CLICK AND RELEASE" RULES:
Fish may also be photographed immediately after capture in a manner by which judges can determine total length of fish. The use of a Department of Fisheries ruler (available in your competitors pack) a 'brag mat' or similar device able to show the fish's length.
Images must also contain the competitor's 2016 Demons Fishing Comp registration card in a manner by which judges can easily identify the registration number.
Native Fish must be returned to the water immediately after photo is taken.

Competitors without mobile internet access may bring their device to the weigh in prior to 12 noon on the Sunday to have their images downloaded and verified by Demons Fishing Comp officials.
NO FISH ARE TO BE KEPT IN LIVE WELLS.
13. The boat with the highest combined points at the end of the competition will be named the winner. If two or more boats finish on the same amount of points at the end of the competition the boat with the highest scoring fish will be named the winner.
14. When a native fish is caught gently remove the hook or cut the line if the hook is deep, place in keeper net and wait for marshals. Marshals will measure fish and record on a docket which you will sign and be given a copy of. It is your responsibility to check these copies against the main score board (located at headquarters) for any errors and to make marshals aware of any discrepancies.
15. Any contestant caught not following the rules will be disqualified with no refund of money.
16. COMPETITION OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO WARN OR DISQUALIFY ANY COMPETITOR DEEMED TO BE CREATING A NUISANCE EITHER AT THE COMPSITE OR ON THE WATER.
Any competitor with a grievance should direct it to an official.
17. Competitors will be issued with arm bands at registration these must be presented for meals and happy hour. Juniors and extra meal arm bands will be issued in another colour. Meals will be served between set times it is up to you to collect your meal between these times.
18. A quite area will be set aside at the reserve ask officials for directions.
19. The Early Bird Draw will take place on Friday night, entrants do not have to be present.
20.The Major Cash Draw will take place during presentations on Sunday. Winning tickets will not be put back into the draw.
