2013

Owen Started his football career at the age of 13yrs and played with Tooleybuc Football Club.

1967 - Played with Tooleybuc 3rds

1968 - went to Richmond and played in the U/17’s

1969 – went to Dandenong and played in the U/19’s (which were the 3rds) – won a Best and Fairest that year there.

1970 – still in the Dandenong U/19’s but also had a few games with the Dandenong 2^nd’s

1971 – played in the Dandenong 2^nd’s

1972 – was in the army then and played in the Army team at Singleton, NSW and won a flag (the only grand final he has ever played in)

1973 – went to Keysborough (a Melb suburb near Dandenong) – won a Best and Fairest there.

1974-75 – came back to Tooleybuc to play footy in the seniors. Coached the Tooleybuc 3rds

1976-77 – went to Manangatang footy club and coached (they were in the Tyrell league then)

1978-83 – went back to Tooleybuc and played in the seniors

During that time he also coached the South West Riverina Teal Cup Footy for NSW for 5-6yrs and took players from this area to be represented.

1987 coached the United Footy U/17’s (3rds)

Main man in the house project which bought important funds for the future of the club.

Senior Selectors in the 2000/2001 Premiership years

Chairman of the United club 2007 and 2008 – brought together the football, junior football and netball clubs.

He’s umpires the Reserves, waved flags, kept time, done the interchange, helped with catering functions, BBQ cook at the trots.

Whenever there is a function or helper where Owen can help in some way he is a part of it.

Vicki Allen

2012: - Club Secretary for 10 years and assistant secretary for 5 prior. Involved with committee for over 17 years. Has worked on many sub committees. Her dedication and work fundraising for the club has made her one of its greatest supporters.

Bill Gleeson (RIP)

Played over 400 games with Nyah West Rovers. Was elected to the committee early and was President in 1976-1977. Coached the Under 17's. As one of the instigators of the amalgamation, he was duly elected the first president and remained in the position for the first 3 seasons. he was honored with Life Membership at both Nyah West Rovers and at United. Also receiving the MMFL Personality of the Year Award. The United Best Club Person honors his memory.

Pat Phelan (RIP)

Arguably the best footballer in the MMFL to not play VFL football. he received 3 MMFL B&F's and 10 Club B&F's in his playing career. He was honored with Life membership at both Nyah and United. Today the clubs Senior Best & Fairest award honor his memory. more -->

Brian (Pat) Harrop

Better known as 'Rat', he played in over 400 senior and reserve games for both Nyah and United. Was a tireless worker around the Club, having served it for 21 continuous years on the committee. He received the MMFL personality of the Year Award. more -->

Geoffrey Bradbury

Played 100 senior and reserve games for Nyah. Geoff stood as Club Secretary for 13 Years, also serving as a league delegate. more -->

Rob (Chesty) Coburn

The only player to have played in the 1963 Nyah premiership and to have played with United. A dedicated club man, player, committee man, runner, time keeper, you name it. more -->

Tom Evans (RIP)

Club time keeper for countless years. Timekeeper to the MMFL for 25 consecutive Grand Finals. He was awarded the VCFL Recognition for Service medallion for his outstanding service to football. Tom retired from time keeping at the end of season 2008.

Frank Curran

A staunch supporter of the Club from its very beginning, serving as President for 3 years and as a committee person for many more. Awarded Life Membership for his dedication as a tireless worker and administrator. more -->

Keith Blackman

Player, trainer and all round great bloke. Keith was awarded life membership in 2002 for his continued support and good spirit around the Club. In 2010 the CMFL honoured him with the League Identity of the Year award. Keith is well respected within this club and throughout the CMFNL.

Brian (Snow) Duffy

A Junior football premiership coach. Over many years he helped to develop local players and bring out their talents. Awarded Life Membership by the Junior Football Club for his outstanding contribution.

Max Wilkinson

Served as a player from the beginning of the amalgamated Club. He has played 289 senior and reserve games with the club and taking the role of Captain several times. he served as a committee man for over 12 years holding the position of Treasurer, Vice President and worked on may sub-committees. more -->

Kerrie Shadbolt

Has been a hard worker behind the scenes for both the Football & Netball Committees. Orgainising major social functions, such as the Club Deb Balls and Presentation Nights. She has been a strong leader of the Ladies Catering Group and continues to be one of the clubs greatest supporters. more -->

Gary Harrop

Gary has been a committee person for 12 years and has had many years of working tirelessly behind the scenes. In more recent years he has taken on a role of Football Umpiring and is a great supporter of the club and its people.

Phyllis Curran

Phyllis has provided support for the Club in many ways form the first year of amalgamation. Showing leadership in several areas throughout the Club. She has been truly committed to the Demons. her willingness to help in any situation has been an inspiration to many. Phyllis continues her support with the never ending chore of seamstress, repairing our Football Jumpers.

John Correnti

Well known for his passion for football, United and his beloved Magpies , he served for 21 years as a committee member. He has also held positions with the Junior Football Club. His dedication and hard work has proven to make him one of the great supporters of our Club.

Peter Thompson

Peter has long been a presence around the Club since his playing days, a great "behind the scenes" member, working tirelessly with Juniors and now Seniors to get the players on the field each week.

Dennis Pretty

No. 25 ( Midnight) - Made a valuable contribution to the club as a player in the early years after amalgamtion. Once retired he took on administration roles within the club. He is a highly regarded presence within the club and the local football community.

Matt Curran

Jumper No 29, the first player to have ever played 300 Senior Games for the United Club. Rising from the junior ranks through to senior player, his dedication to the club has never faltered. CMFL interleague representative for countless years, runner to the League Best and Fairest twice. Ten Senior Best & Fairest Awards in the United Club, and off the field he as been Treasurer and Committee person. more -->
