A Brief History
The Morwell Junior Football Club formed in 2016 uniting the Morwell Youth Club and the Morwell Tigers Junior Football Clubs. Following the positive inaugural season the Morwell Junior Football Club has continued to be successful on the field. The 2018 season ended with the Under 14’s taking out the premiership against Leongatha, with the Under 10’s, Under 14's and the Youth Girls sides all taking part in the 2019 finals series.
The Morwell Junior Football Club will again aim to field two teams in the Under 8, Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 competitions in the Central Gippsland Junior Football League as well as a Youth Girls side for female players aged 13 to 18. The focus into the future will be on growth, with plans in place to work closely with the schools within the town to put footy back on the map and grow participation to a point where the club aims to field three teams in each of the boys competitions while continuing our involvement with the development of girls football in the Latrobe Valley.
The Morwell Junior Football Club is seeking the assistance of local business and community support to ensure that we can provide future opportunites to the youth of Morwell.
The Big Picture
While the Morwell Junior Football Club aims to provide the youth of Morwell the opportunity to continue to participate in Aussie Rules football, there is plenty more going on behind the scenes. The newly formed committee is currently working towards instigating a number of important projects over the coming years which include:
- Change room upgrades to encourage both male & female participation.
- Kitchen upgrades to cater for the increased demand.
- Car Park sealing (concern for children’s safety in the carpark is high on the agenda).
- Ground lighting so that the players can safely train past 5.15pm during winter.
- Time Keepers Box relocation to a position where the game can be seen by officials.
- Net behind goals to avoid incidence of children running into carparks during games & training.
The Committee are currently working closely with Latrobe City Council and various state government organisations to uncover funding opportunities to assist in bringing the above mentioned projects to fruition.

In order to continue to grow participation numbers the Morwell Junior Football Club committee are tirelessly working behind the scenes. Setting up signage promoting the home of junior football in Morwell and the need
for increased membership is one small step forward. Funds raised through our business partnerships will assist in purchasing additional equipment to be used by our kids on an ongoing basis and will also assist the club to
continue running clinics in all local schools to promote the Morwell Junior Football Club brand and a healthy lifestyle.
The MJFC wish to achieve a three year partnership with investment as detailed below;
- 2022 Season - $1000 (Preferably payable December 2022)
- 2023 Season - $1000 (Preferably payable December 2023)
- 2024 Season - $1000 (Preferably payable December 2024)
As the exclusive players wanted partner of the Morwell Junior Football Club your business will receive the following;
- Logo positioned on bottom of both 1800 x 1200 entry signs to Northern Reserve. These signs will be visible to traffic in both directions along Holmes Road Morwell and will be used to help promote the need for additional participants both in under age competitions and also in the Auskick program.
- Business linkage through MJFC website and Facebook page.
- Invitation to attend the Anzac Day “Heritage Clash” where the MJFC can thank your organisation for your support.
Awards Investment
Awards are a vital part in recognising and rewarding the kids that are participating each week and providing them with some positive reinforcement for their efforts. The awards will be monitored on a weekly basis with the aim being to make sure that the same player doesn’t receive the same award (where possible) in the same
year, increasing exposure to your business.
Our season consists of around 15 games in each age level so we ask that you consider providing awards in multiples of 15 which can then be distributed accordingly. For instance, if you were in a position to provide 15 awards then we would allocate these weekly to 1 side while if you were in a position to provide 100 awards then we would allocate a weekly award to each of our seven sides. Any contribution that you can make would be greatly appreciated and will be promoted in our monthly club newsletter as well as receiving a sponsorship
plaque showing our appreciation.
