Scott Francis Selwood (born 27 March 1990) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the West Coast Eagles in the AFL.
Selwood was recruited from Bendigo Pioneers with the West Coast Eagles' fourth pick, and number 22 overall in the 2007 AFL Draft. He made his debut against Fremantle in the Round 3 Western Derby in 2008. He was retained in the team for the Round 4 match against the Sydney Swans, but was dropped after a poor performance, obtaining only 9 possessions.
His long awaited return to the senior side was in Round 16, 3 months since his last game, against the Brisbane Lions, at the expense of veteran Michael Braun. Although a poor performance, amassing a mere 6 possessions, he was retained for the surprising win against St Kilda. This time he gave a greater output, amassing a career high 15 possessions and also scoring his first goal, courtesy of a brain-snap by St Kilda defender Brendon Goddard. Selwood is now trying to cement a regular spot in the senior side.
Over his first 4 games, Selwood has averaged 11 possessions per game. In the 2011 football season he has averaged 19 disposals, and 8.4 tackles per game (the 4th highest tackle per game average in the AFL), for a total of 67, the 3rd highest total in the AFL, and is shooting signals for a very successful football career, seeing he is only 21 years old this year. Selwood has three elder brothers, twins Adam and Troy, who play for West Coast and the Brisbane Lions respectively, and Joel, who plays for Geelong.
