Presentation Night
As we approach the end of the season, we have most teams still in the running to play in the finals. Best wishes to all players, coaches and helpers for a big finish to the year.
Presentation Nights will be held at Canterbury Park on Friday August 26 from 6 pm for U/13.5, U/15, U/16.5 and Youth Girls on Wednesday August 31 from 6 pm for U/10 and U/12. More details will be passed on via the Team Managers as the date approaches.
Bibs
One of the rules of junior football that protects players and officials from interference during a game is the rule that only those wearing a bib may be on the playing area. It is very important therefore that all those who should have a bib on (coach, team manager, water carriers, first aid officers, umpires and timekeepers) are wearing the correct bib. There are fines that can be imposed on clubs for failing to do so and everyone in the club will be disappointed to see the fees and fundraised dollars wasted on fines.
Codes of Conduct
There are codes of conduct for players, officials, coaches, parents and spectators. If you fail to uphold your obligations under the code of conduct you can be suspended from attending junior football games or clubs can be fined. No one wants this to happen so make sure you are aware of the standard of behaviour expected of you in the role you are playing. Refer to the club website at https://websites.mygameday.app/club_info.cgi?c=1-6149-80371-0-0 if you need more information.
Interleague representatives
Congratulations to Ben Thompson, Marley Edwards, Nash Honig, Matt Higgs and Cody Schepers who were part of the successful Bendigo Junior Football League U/13 team who were undefeated at the recent carnival held in Swan Hill.
Canteen volunteers
Many thanks to the Mums and Dads who have volunteered in the canteen for our Sunday games. The club is very appreciative of the time that has been donated by parents and to the support and assistance of the senior club in providing us with the use of the canteen. There are four more rounds in the season prior to the finals and on each of the Sundays to come we will need some parents to assist. If you are able to help out before, during or after your game, your time will be much appreciated.
Lost and Found
We are regularly finding clothes and equipment after games and training. If possible, naming of your belongings makes it more likely that they can be returned. We also have a set of keys that were left in the club rooms earlier in the year and have not been claimed. Please enquire with your team manager if you have lost anything.
Volunteer luncheon
On Saturday August 13, the EJFC will be hosting a luncheon for the regular volunteer helpers. If you have taken a job on the cold and windy mornings throughout the season, your team manager will give you a ticket in the next couple of weeks. Please indicate if you are available to attend so that we can organise the catering for the appropriate number of people. The lunch will be held in the senior social rooms at Canterbury Park during the game against Kangaroo Flat.
Hoodies and photo cards
Please see your team manager if you are interested in buying a 2011 EJFC Hoodie at the cost of $35. You may have seen them around the club with the distinctive light blue shoulders. Players can also get a framed, personalised photo of themselves which looks like an AFL Footy Card for the cost of $25. Orders for both of these will need to be placed in the next fortnight to be completed this season.
