General Overview
The adoption of a code of conduct by the Melton Football Netball Club will ensure uniform and consistent guidelines are inplace for players, committee, members and visitors, with a view to fostering and promoting good sportsmanship with in the club environment.
Implementation & Promotion of The Code of Conduct

Each member of the Melton Football Netball Club will be provided with a copy of the code at the time of or within a reasonable time there after or paying their annual subscription or membership fee

The code shall be displayed in the clubrooms, website or any other location as determined by the committee.

Any changes or amendments to the code of conduct must be notified to the secretary in writing and passed by resolution of not less than ¾ of the committee prior to being implemented.

Any changes introduced during the season shall be communicated to members in a manner to be determined by the committee
Players Code of Conduct

At all times abide by the rules of the Melton Football Netball Club and the League in which you compete.

Do not assault or attempt to assault an umpire, another player, official or spectator.

Do not abuse, dispute or react in an obviously provocative or aggressive manner towards an umpire

Ensure both on and off field behaviour is consistent with the principles good sportsmanship.

Swearing or other forms of verbal abuse is not acceptable.

Conduct yourself at a high level of personal behaviour on and off the field in such a manner as to not bring your club or the game of Australian Rules Football or Netball into disrepute.

Develop a respect for the League in which you compete, your club, team mates and opponents.

Be willing to be involved in local football development and promotional activities

Avoid use of derogatory language based on gender orrace.

No player shall purchase on behalf of or other wise supply alcohol to any person under the age of 18 years.
Non Player Members, Parents & Spectators Code of Conduct.

Support club officials in maintaining the highest standard of behaviour both on and off the field.

Avoid use of derogatory language based on gender or race.

If you disagree with an umpire or official, raise the issue through the appropriate channels rather than questioning the official’s judgement and honesty in public.

Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
Coaches Code of Conduct

Be familiar with the laws of Australian Rules Football and or Netball and abide by the rules and conditions of your club and League.

Attain and maintain all required levels of coaching accreditation and become an active member of any respective coaches association.

Make a personal commitment to keep yourself informed of sound coaching principles and coaching developments.

Through your behaviour in the community develop personal respect to enhance the image of your club and sport.

Avoid verbal and physical confrontation with other clubs players and officials and umpires at all times. Use the Leagues official vehicle of communication to report any unfair situations that you may believe has arisen.

Don’t ask for, but rather earn the respect of your players through your dealings with them and the manner in which you perform your duties.

Never swear or use abusive language during the game or when addressing players. Be aware of the presence of young people and other spectators.

Follow the advice of a qualified person when determining when an injured player is ready to play again.

Treat the umpires and opposition players and officials with respect.

Be aware of the differing needs and attitude of players at your club, particularly young players
-
Be supportive of activities designed to encourage participation of young players at junior clubs, school and development programs.

Avoid use of derogatory language based on gender or race.
Alcohol Policy

Melton Football Netball Club is a fully participating member of the Australian Drug Foundation’s Good Sports Program and abides by the Good Sports policies regarding use of Tobacco, Safe Transport and Responsible Alcohol Management. Copies of these policies are available at the clubrooms and on the club website.

Melton Football Netball Club is a Signatory to the Melton Sporting Clubs Liquor Accord between, Victoria Police and The City of Melton.

Only committee appointed persons will man the bar and or beer booth at any time.

All persons serving alcohol at the club musthold a current “Responsible Service of Alcohol” certificate.

All persons serving alcohol at the club shall abide by the conditions set out in the club’s liquor License and shall comply with the provisions of the Liquor Control Reform Act at all times and shall cooperate with Law Enforcement Officers or Liquor Licensing officers.

All persons serving alcohol at the club shall abide by the terms of the club’s Good Sports policies on alcohol management and safe transport.

No alcohol shall be served to, supplied to or consumed by any person under the age of 18 years under any circumstances.

Proof of age should be sought if there is any doubt on the age of any person attempting to purchase alcohol.
Smoking Policy

Melton Football Netball Club is a fully participating member of the Australian Drug Foundation’s Good Sports program and abides by the Good Sports policies regarding use of Tobacco. Copies of this policy are available in the clubrooms and on the club website.

Smoking is not permitted any where within the Club social room or change rooms.

Smoking is not permitted with 10 metres of the clubroom or sporting arena if any junior sporting event is in progress.

Smokers will use designated smoking areas where available.
Illicit Drugs Policy
- Melton Football Netball Club will work towards developing a comprehensive illicit drugs policy in conjunction with the Australian Drug Foundations Good Sports Program

Until such policy is fully developed, MFNC will not tolerate the possession of use of illicit drugs on club premises or at any official club function.

Possession, distribution and use of illicit drugs on club premises will be regarded as criminal activities and will be reported to police.

In addition to possible police action, members, players and visitors found, using, distributing or in possession of illicit drugs on club premises or at any official club function will be subject to disciplinary procedures in accordance with the club’s constitution.
Discipline
- If any member shall neglect or refuse to comply with the objects and rules of the Mel- ton Football Netball Club or if any member shall in the opinion of the committee be accused of any conduct unbecoming of a member or prejudicial to the interest of the Melton Football Netball Club, such member may be called before the committee for explanation. Provided always that such member shall be entitled the rights detailed in the Club’s Consituation.

If found guilty of offences, the committee shall determine an appropriate penalty for the offence, which may comprise suspension, forfeiture of match payments, expulsion from the club or other penalty determined by the committee. Provided always such member shall be entitled to the rights of appeal detailed in the Clubs Constitution.
