Rules for Ambrose Golf Play
- Each player in the team hits off the tee. The best shot is selected and all other players then pick up and place their ball within one (1) hand span of the selected ball if the selected ball is on the fairway. Or drop within one club length if the selected ball is in the rough.
- Each person then hits a second shot from this spot and again the best ball is selected. This continues until one or more balls are on the putting surface and one is selected as the best shot.
- On the putting surface, the best ball is marked and the other balls are played from this position.
- One score is recorded on each hole, this being the sum of the best shots used throughout the hole.
- Each player in the team (4 players) must have at least three (3) shots from the tee selected for the second shot. The initials of the player whose ball is selected for the second shot is to be marked on the scorecard for each hole. In the case of only three (3) players in the team each person must have at least four (4) tee shots selected for the second shot.
- The team handicap is calculated by adding the handicaps of each player and dividing by 8 for a 4 person team or dividing by 6 for a 3 person team.
- FOOTBALL Club Golf Day Rule. Individual VGU or registered social club handicaps are set to a maximum limit of 18.
