THE HISTORY OF OUR CLUB
1976–1979
In 1976 a meeting was held at the Hackham Hall with the SFL to discuss forming a Football Club and its colours. The meeting was open to community. The club appointed Coaches with senior players, U13s and U15s combined with Aldinga.
In 1977 the team trained at Hackham East Primary School with cars parked around the ground with their headlights on. Lights were later donated to facilitate training. Plenty of players and home games played at Aldinga with a hose put through a window for a shower didn’t worry the team that was undefeated after eight games and finishing minor premiers only to be knocked out in the preliminary final.
Then in 1978 the team trained at Christies Beach High School whilst the Hackham complex was being built leading up to the A grade playing in the Grand Final going down by only a few points.
