What a way to go out.....IN STYLE!
How awesome were our boys on Sunday?
Do you know Brighton Beach has 4 boys in the Victorian Squad ?
And that we had our 2012 Best & Fairest missing? We had Pizz away with a bad groin? And The Man was playing in the under 10 Carnival?
We had a plan, and it worked so well, we just couldn't squeeze in that last goal.
All the boys were fabulous. I really can't think of the right words to describe how impressive they were. It was a rough game, plenty of HUGE bumps and lots of amazing skills on display.
Definitely excited about next year considering how good our last 6 weeks have been. We have all learnt so much, and know where and what we need to do to get there. With another season under the belt for our SUPER new-comers. How good have they been: Michael, Sebastian, Stephen, Tyson, Emmanuel and the prodigal sons Josh D & Spiros.
5 boys played their 50 games: Andy, Balta, Big M, Sam B, Paris.
And didn't they all play ripper games.
Paris had a zillion touches, but the best was the way he used the ball. Paris its not how many you get they will notice, its how you use it, and Sunday you were brilliant.
Big M was pitted against a Big V ruckman, and won with a little help from Stephen. Well done Big Fella, looking forward to seeing the new haircut.
Balta used his speedy Gonzalez speed to his advantage flying and zipping around the packs. Alex we need that zip in 2014, your a star.
Andy Mac, as always Mr.100%. Another game where his attack on the ball was faultless. When it's Andy's turn to go, he's already there toughing it out.
And the Captain of the backline, Sam B has had another stellar season. Surely the best backman in East. And one of the hardest tacklers.
Dibby had a super game in defense, straight running at the ball, copping a big few knocks and not even blinking. Another tough game from the little champ.
Juddy played most of the game at CHF. Giving us a great target. Did a few nice things and when he got his motor going was easily the class player on the ground.
Lively Tyson was desperate to get on the ground, and we gave him a job on one of their best midfielders. AND he kept him possession-less. Well done Tyson. Big things next year. He's a tough one. Just wait and see.
Dominic has a great season. And on Sunday he was superb again. Such a strong boy, and always so reliable. If Sam B is the Captain, surely Dom is the General.
Big Stephen was put down at full back playing on one of their stars. Big job for a guy in only his fourth game. Not only did he stop him, he then went into the ruck and dominated. Well done big fella.
Was a tough day for Samuel, he had a lot to contend with. His attack on the footy was great, providing a target across half forward all game, he did himself proud with an outstanding display.
Michael came into the season mid way. Into the top division which is very tough but he has improved every week. The last three weeks it has all clicked for him, pretty strong and keeps his feet. Next year we will see his best.
Benny has had a stellar season. Throwing himself into every contest, without fear or concern for his own well being. He was carried off the ground at one stage, but fought on to get back out there and lead by example.
Mr. T is so strong, probably the strongest out there. But he has only just learnt how to use his strength. On a couple of occasions on Sunday he crashed thru and launched one of his custom big punts.
Sebastian has also enjoyed a fine first season. Starting off the ground he came onto a wing and held his man kick-less. Sebastian has made many key plays in his first season, reliable and willing to learn. Keep at it Seb.
SOS was the swingman from full forward to full back. Tried his best to snaffle an early goal, but really did his best work at Full Back.
We needed someone up forward to grab a goal and kick a goal. BIG Ross did it a few times, with some lovely pack marks and straight kicking for goal. At one stage he had 4 boys against him. WOW was it Travis Cloke out there?
Our super little guy was super again. Spiros got into the game early with some aggressive tackling and after dispossessing the guy grabbed the footy and balted into the forward line. Love having you back Spiros.
The big ground suited Chris and he used his pace to his advantage. on 4 occasions Chris sprinted away from the pursuers to give us a chance to win the game. Chris has had a super year and showed us what a great players he is and will be.
And now for the 2 superstars on the day. Josh Whittle and Josh D were given special roles on the day to pick up and stop two boys who also play for the Vic School Boys team. What an amazing job they did. They chased hard all day, tackled unbelievably and got plenty of touches themselves. As a coach you love it when a plan comes off and these two boys did it to perfection.

Unfortunately we lost the game by 2 points. We battled hard all day. Played a blinder.
Was a great season, showed that we are capable against the best, just were desperately unlucky.
Had a real buzz with the boys this year, they are a great bunch, thanks everyone for letting me Coach.
Thanks to the best team manager in the business in Richard. Season from hell and handled with absolute class.
Gerry has worked tirelessly to help with training and game day. Always giving great advice and helping encourage the boys all year.
Amanda had her work cut out for her all year, so many big bumps, from the first game with two huge black eyes to benny being smashed in the last. She did a great job looking after our boys. Cameo appearance to Jo. Thanks girls.
Brian who has worked all year as boundary. Taken for granted as its a tough job, he even umpired for a few games and was the best Umpy we had all year.
Craig listened to our dribble all year, running and running and running. And yes we did pick out boys at the opposite end of the ground to watch him run. Thanks to Adrian Menara and Jason Whittle for filing in also.
And thanks to all the helpers during the year. Whether it be on game day or at training. Thanks to bringing the boys to training and for coming and supporting at the games.
Watch out 2014, Beena will be ready.
